Same here - both my older brother and I, and believe it or not I still have a few of them we built and painted as kids. Evidently they're quite valuable to collectors, even out of the box and built. There was also one called "Big Frankie" - a large scale model based on Frankenstein, but the only part that remains is Frankie's head! They've rereleased all of them the over last couple of decades - including the Guillotine - and had to purchase some of them for old times sake. Kept sealed new in a large storage bin now, evidently these newer versions have also increased in value.

Anybody know when this Rolling Stones plane model will become available?

Its release is imminent, but knowing Revell, that doesn't mean much. But I think January 2020 is the target date. I have had a search active on ebay since I first heard about it earlier this year.

Sorry for not seeing that prior thread, obviously got to get up pretty early in the morning to get something over around here!

PS: I build models on a contest level, but not airplanes, cars. Still plan on doing one of these when it comes out, buying another just for the decals.

Black Widow was the only Revell glued up….

Black Widow was Monogram. Monogram is now part of the Revell AG family but back in the day it was a competing company.

AMT was the dominant company, mostly due to their making the promo models for the big 3 auto manufacturers, but Revell had the most interesting, delicate, fiddly models.

Off topic but here is something I built years ago.

never liked those snap-tagether sets …. musta been glue fumes …

My cousins used to build models. Once they got tired of looking at the finished work, they blow them up with firecrackers in the nearby cul de sac.
