Watched it yesterday, agree, not bad but does not compare to Goodfellas!

Casino beats both Goodfellas and The Irishman. It has Sharon Stone's best ever performance. Joe Pesci is great in The IrishmanQuote

I kept expecting a great Stones tune to blare out at any moment but it never did...

Scorcese, DeNiro, Pacino -- these are all men in their 70s, still making a gangster film. A good one, I'm sure, but I'm getting to the point where I want to see what younger men can create and see other viewpoints and experiences up there on the screen.
Just as the Stones and other bands have unwittingly crowded out younger rock bands, I feel some of these older moviemakers have done the same.

CR, there are so many very, very good bands, great music being made today. Maybe this thread is not the place to go into detail.Quote

what younger rock bands? i try to keep up but its getting harder to find new & interesting stuff. its a bad period for rock. we need a great young band that can shake up the status quo like nirvana did. it ain't greta van fleet, IMO!

As far as Rock groups with people still in their 20s, you should check out the Australian band King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and the San Francisco band The Oh Sees. Both have put out several excellent albums.

Oh please, for god sake.
This rhetoric crops up on this site every few months and just simply isn’t true. You’re out of touch, accept it.

I'm old enough to have seen the big acts when they were still relevant such as the Stones in 1978, Led Zep in 1977, the Who in 1980, Pink Floyd in 1980. & worked in music distribution for over 25 years (what's that?). I was at the center of ground zero for the grunge years in Seattle. I think the main problem in the states at least is that hip hop has taken over with the kids. Much harder for young bands to get ahead. Anyway sorry to get thread off track.
