OT: Fanny band - they really rocked...

I want to share this discovery in a proper post.. Anyway, I could'nt find the "¨Post your favorite video" thread and it deserves it... Probably some or many here know Fanny, an all female band from the seventies.. The band has its right own style, especially regarding the singing parts. This is soul and rock. Some tunes remind the Faces, there is also some Hendrix-ian feel, and sometimes it even sounds a bit like Slade.
I love it.

Still remember them.
Had a nice compilation with Faces, Little feat, Fanny, etc.in the 70's.
I liked them too.

I only heard of them in the the last year or so while browsing around youtube, and posted a tune in the "what are you listening to" thread.

In a Rolling Stone article from 1999 ( 20 Rock Albums Rolling Stone Loved in the 1970s That You Never Heard ), Bowie said :

"They were one of the finest f*cking rock bands of their time, in about 1973.
They were extraordinary: they wrote everything, they played like motherf*ckers,
they were just colossal and wonderful, and nobody's ever mentioned them.
They're as important as anybody else who's ever been, ever; it just wasn't their time."

Not sure I would go that far, but they are fun to watch and Charity Ball rocks! smiling smiley

I was about 20 years old when they had their time and I really liked
them. Bought their first Vinyl LP and guess I still have it in the attic.

A few years ago I read on a guitar forum (think it was the 'Les Paul Forum')
about June Millington and her original LP Burst that she still ownes.
Seems that she is still around.
