How many complete bootleg shows are available from this tour leg? Are there any live versions of "Stupid Girl" and "Doncha Bother Me"?

There are no US concerts at all from the Brian Jones era (ie, 1964-66) in circulation apart from the PA/broadcast one of the very last show he played there - Honolulu 28/7/66. (I'm not counting the TAMI show as thats a filmed performance and not a Stones concert per se)

Not a single audience recording

Great to hear from you brother, but thanks for the bad news. It's unbelievable that nothing has surfaced. Are there any soundboard recordings in a vault or were none made back then? Someone must have something in the closet on cassette.

Reel-to-reel more likely. Cassette tapes weren't even common in '66.

I was thinking about that, maybe 2nd generation?

6 songs off Aftermath + Going Home on the 1967-tour. They were proud of their latest album.

I'll tell ya what, if they had played those 14 songs that were used on the 66 tour in recent tours, I would have been completely satisfied, and thrilled. Could you live with that?

1966 Tour Songs performed include:

Not Fade Away
The Last Time
Paint It Black
Under My Thumb
Stupid Girl
Time Is On My Side

It's hard to imagine that they first came to North America in 64 and then only 2 years later, this would be their last North American tour with Brian.

I knew the Cow Palace was on the SF/Daly City border but did not realize it was in Daly City. I always assumed it was on the SF side.

ABKCO missed a beat here.
The Beatles by contrast have the Shea Stadium and Hollywood Bowl as
permanent records of their live work when at their commercial peak.
Despite his limitations as a Business Manager , Brian Epstein clearly was happy with this opportunity to maximise the groups income.
Given that The Stones had had concerts recorded live and the results released in 64/65 and then been filmed (Charlie is my darling), it seems strange that nothing came out of the 1966 tour or the European one in 1967.
Maybe ABKCO were never approached (hard to believe) or if they were they or the band vetoed it.
The Stones history is littered with some strange business decisions.

25 June 1966 (Cleveland) and (Pittsburgh)
26 June 1966 (Washington, D.C.) and (Baltimore)

How did they manage with two different locations the same day? 2 hours of car between Cleveland and (Pittsburgh... Like a show at 5 PM and another at 9 PM?

Is this the first official fan club of the Rolling Stones in 1966?

Future Pretenders leader Chrissie Hynde (then 14 years old) attended the Cleveland show.

I never knew that the Yardbirds opened for the Stones. Did anyone here see any of those shows?

I didn't (too young) but I've always hoped that a tape exists somewhere waiting to leak or be discovered.
One of the Yardbirds (maybe Dreja or McCarty) said it was like World War 3 with Beck and Page duelling stereo lead guitars, one either side of the stage. The thought of Train Kept A Rolling or Happenings Ten Years Time Ago or Over Under Sideways Down played like that appeals to me.
Mind you, they also said sometimes it was a bit of a competition disaster !
Stones-wise, it would be interesting to hear all the original recordings from this tour recorded for Got Live If You Want It minus the overdubs / fake live tracks but I can't see that happening any time soon.

I broke into Bill's archive. He has complete concerts, videotaped, from 1963 on. Every concert. In stereo. Expert pro-shot, that doesn't linger on Mick too much. Every thing I'm telling you. Mocambo. The 100 Club wake for Ian. Ry Cooder in the studio showing Keith everything. Bill playing Jumping Jack Flash with Brian and Charlie when Mick arrives. My mind exploded.

Great pictures. The days when they set up their amps in a row and started playing. It's like a high school rock band playing at the school Christmas show in the 1970s.
