I heard that Brett Michaels is ill. And won’t be singing for awhile till he gets better.

Thankfully, he was not ill in Charlotte and we got to see Poison. Haven't heard how long he is expected to be out.
Also, Charlotte was Tommy Lee's 1st full gig with the broken ribs.

I saw the Stadium Tour this week in Charlotte.
It was a long show! 1980s me woulda been psyched. 2020s me was ready to go home after spending 7 hours in the venue. Fun to see the hair band fans all grown up, LOL.
I've seen all these bands previously when we were all younger.
Joan Jett and Poison were great! Motley Crue was sub-par because Vince Neil sucks.
Def Leppard were awesome, minus the few new songs we had to sit thru. Joe Elliott's wardrobe made him look like a Golden Girl.
Hard to compare this show to The Stones that I had seen days earlier in Hyde Park.

The big difference (on top of the legacy of course) is that amazingly the Stones keep it "fresh" by actually playing live and with minimal "processing". Looking at the Def Leppard videos it's hard not to notice Elliott"s "processed" (to put it kindly) vocals. It looks like he's softly talking in the microphone and then some "magic" happens, autotune, canned vocals, etc...there's zero emotion or risk that normally comes with live music. It's hard to imagine DL trying to do something like Rambler, they would fall apart completely!

When I saw the "farewell tour" (sic) he was great. I don't know how he does it with his medical stuff. I have something similar to him & it's all I can do just to manage day to day life. I'd be really interested in whatever he comes up with post Motley. Hopefully this is really the end for the Crue.

Mick Mars is still great. What an underrated guitar player he is.

Certainly not saying he isn't great - very much the opposite, in fact. He just doesn't look healthy at all.

Agree, he looks frail.

Not shocking. I don't know how he lasted as long as he did considering his health issues. I'm glad he is taking care of himself. I'm not huge on the Crue (singer issues to put it lightly) but I always enjoyed his guitar work. When I saw them on the "farewell" tour he was the best part of the show.

He truly is an exceptional guitarist. Makes damn good sense for him to say no more.

It’s amazing isn’t it, these bands are so much younger and the Stones just outwork them and everybody else.
Jagger is aware of everything, he knows who’s touring what they’re charging how the tickets are selling, who’s wearing what etc
It’s like an obsession to be the best, he’s gonna show up better dressed, whip thin and have his voice strong as hell.
You can tell they don’t cheat because if Micks having voice problems shows are canceled, Keith does an extra song or hes relying on the backing vocals more.

The Crue made me understand what people saw in punk bands in the old days.
You know you’re not exactly getting Yes level musicianship but man those guys rock and roll.
Mick Mars, talk about being blessed and cursed at the same time.hope he’ll live a long life, that cat paid his dues.

For me I just find the timing of the announcement of Mars’ replacement a little callous, but who am I??

Hoping Mick Mars has a peaceful retirement, and is able to carry on as best he can given his circumstances.

Ah.

They obviously knew way in advance.

The Stones kind of did a similar thing recently. AC/DC hired Axl Rose. The Who... well, whatever.

Big contracts are exactly those. If the band/artist doesn't come through... we may never know the truth of if something was cancelled and what the cost would be since various acts carry on.
