SAW THE STONES IN MIAMI LAST NIGHT.

Let me begging by saying that l have seen the stones live on every tour since 1969, including 5 nights at Madison Square Garden in 1975. And least twice on every other tour.
Last night show in Miami was good but far from great, my main complaint and from talking to other fans there also their complaint was that although they sound was good ,the fireworks etc, it sounded like an oldies show, they seemed rushed and the songs had hardly any improvisation to them, l mean by now they can play those songs with their eyes closed and one hand tied behind their back.
Keith has always being my favorite but last night he was hardly there, and those two songs he does "the worst" is an ok song but not great and it gets tiresome he has some much other stuff that he could do and sound fresh, and "imfamy" that along with sol, and rain fall down, is one of the worst songs on abb.
My feelings after seeing the show is that this is the last time and they are just making time and getting as much money as they can out of this tour.
The merchandise being sold, a total rip off both in price and the quality of the stuff.(although ther were many buyers)
l will see them again in Puerto Rico in Feb for free, l just hope they have added new material to the setlist by then.
Last but not least whose idea was to have Joss Stone open the show? maybe it was cause of the namesake.
Any way thats my opinion. Let the fireworks start.

MANOLO, SHOOT ROPENI who is pretending that he loves the Stones...
My friend, you can't hide successfuly yourself! You always say that they "play crap on this tour". So why are you going (if... i doubt...) at their concerts? When you decided that seeing the Stones nowadays isn't waste of time? Just curious...

Funny,I was at the show last night to. You make some good points but I had a freakin blast and so did most of the 20,000 thousand or so others who were rockin the joint. Charlie beat cancer and the boys gave us another hot album. Fourty years and still rockin. 50.00 for a tank of gas or 50.00 for a tee shirt its 2005 its all relitive.

Well mr stickydion, first of all the mistake that you and so many others in the board make is to equate criticism of the band as what they have become, "greedy old men" trying to rake as much cash as posible, with not loving the stones,
l grew up on their music and yes l love a lot of it , yet that doesn't stop me from being able to see that the stones of now have become a parody of what they used to be, basically an oldies show.
l purchased tickets way before the tour started ($160.00)at that time we were expecting much more from the band, with a new record coming out, and then all the rare stuff that they were rehearsing in Canada, unfortunately it didn't turn out that way and we had to listen to the same warhorses, but it was fun meetting new friends at the concert.
Have a nice day

Another perspective could be try new and different things, or you may become "boring" thats what the stones have become.
And if you can read l had paid tickets before the tour started.
Have a nice day

Don't loose you faith ROPENI. It's true that when they suck they suck like hell. I've seen them twice so far this tour. In Ottawa, the show was not sooo bad, but I clearly had the same feeling that they were rushing through it. But then in Toronto I had the time of my life it was great ! I guess you just have to catch them on a good night... Don't loose your faith man.

Great, so I guess it's like plunking down $160 (or $450 for some) on a roulette wheel and hope that you "catch them on a good night." Pretty expensive odds. So far I'm 1 for 1 and hope I go 3 for 3 in 2005.

I'm hoping that they mix up the set list more before they return for the Ft. Lauderdale concert. I simply had enough of YGMR, Ruby T, HTW, YCAGWYW, BS , and SFD.

ROPENI, if you follow the board carefully you should have recognized that it's not welcomed to criticize the Stones in any form. Some take it really personal as it seems it's all they own in their lives. So it can't be bad!

This tour they have done a great job turning off hardcore fans. I know more people that have said they will never go see them again than I have heard people say they were great.... Sad

Well, I think I am a hardcore fan. I saw the Atlanta show. They were great! They didn't turn me off. I can't wait to see them again on this tour, hopefully many times. That's all I have to say. And almost ALL fans I have spoken to think the same way.

Quite right. I don't know anyone who's seen them on this tour, thought they were poor, and has stated that they won't see them again. I DO know people, who quite to the contrary, have seen them, thought they were playing every bit as well as they ever have - if not better, and can't wait to see them again. So the only customers I'm aware of are of the happy variety, simply don't know of any unhappy ones. WHO are they and WHERE are they ?

I'm a hardcore fan & was thought the shows were superior to SW, B2B, '81, '75, and in most ways (except setlist/venue rotation) Licks. And 90% of the reviews (including those posted on the IORR tour section) are extremely positive. I STILL cant figure out why Mick cant get the words to She's So Cold right - guess he doesnt like or relate to the song anymore.

I would like to say it was my seat, row 5 Keith side right on the little cat walk Mick took into the audience quite frequently, but that is not it. I have had great seats before. But being there allowed me to notice what I seldom have in the past. Mick was smiling, even laughing to himself, and having a great time. Keith was actaully taking notice and talking to some people up front. Now I am about as jaded as anyone can be when it comes to the fact that this is about the money and not the music, but the show in Miami was the most fun I have seen the guys translate to the audience from the stage in almost 30 years.

I guess this is why lawyers know having more than one eye witness often makes the case worse, no one sees tha same thing. I heard sour notes, I went in wishing for anything new, but by the time Get Off My Cloud was pounding the back of the arena, I could not have been anymore enraptured.

I saw the Rolling Stones in peak professional form having a blast. The fun they had magnifid mine. My worry now is the shows I have in November will seem pale in comparison.

the only sad part of this tour for me is the age of the fans... since most are in my age bracket..40+
i think many of us who went to see them back in 72, 75, 78,81 were either very high or drunk..and on top of it we were very excited to see them..it was the age of concerts and great parties..
today most kids don't go to concerts...(hip hop and rap stars are not big on touring...) with the prices of the stones concerts, most kids can't afford to go..it leaves us old farts...ha..but for me, i remember 1975, ha..the stones sound is much better today... and many of the older fans didn't go out and buy, bigger bang, so most only want to hear them play the same great tracks that they played back in the 60' and 70's...it makes them feel young again...but without the booze and pills and powereds. i love the new album and would like it if they played 5 to 8 songs from it..but most older fans would be bored to death.
anyway i think they are playing much, much better today...and the same old songs are sounding new again..
p.s. you were soooo lucky to get to see them for 5 shows in ny in 1975..great tour!!

Mr hot stuff, actually l do like most of the new album and what makes me upset is that they should be playing more from it. It won't take long,She saw me coming,
This house,dangerous beauty,etc.
The old songs l could do without Miss you, ycagwyw, out of control, start me up,it'sonly rock and roll, you got me rocking, tumbling dice.
The stones have such a huge catalog of music that for me they ought to do more of the seldom hear of stuff.
Stray cat blues, memo from turner, tell me,and countless others.
As far as back then 714's and toot were the cocktail of choice to see the stones.lol
Those were some fun times
Have good evening
