"new" Sympathy video... where is it from?

this is from the David Frost show in '68 and seems to be a R&R Circus rehearsal, all the way down to Mick practicing hiding the, yet to be drawn, devil tattoo.

How did he get such a clip and are there more out there? Maybe the Stones gave this out to promote their upcoming show, though he never mentions the R&R Circus ... or was it after it was shelved??

anyone know? Also its priceless to see the look of shock of most in the audience after the clip ends! David Frost himself, seemed happy to get it over with and on with his show!

I've seen it before, some years back. Strange video. Brian pretending to play Nicky's part. Bill pretending to play Keith's bass part. And you only see them for scant seconds from the zoomed in closeup on Mick.

Nothing at all "new" about it, it has circulated for years.

From Zentgraf:

29th November 1968: UK TV (LWT) 'Frost On Saturday', London, incl.
- Sympathy For The Devil (MJ/KR) -live vocals on prepared backing track
Line-up: MJ (voc)/KR (perc, gtr)/BJ (p)/BW (bass)/CW (dr)/Rocky Dijon (perc)
Note: Televised on the 30th November. The used backing track differs from the
final (Beggars Banquet-) mix as it includes some more guitar licks by KR.
Released officially on DVD on October 4, 2010 (see 101004A).

4th October 2010: VARIOUS ARTISTS.
2 DVD's 'Frost On Saturday' (Network DVD 7953109 ). Incl.
- Sympathy For The Devil (MJ/KR) -live vocals on prepared backing
track; originally televised on the 30th November 1968 (see 681130A)

This performance had been on YouTube before but taken down recently I guess do to copyrighted material. I wouldn't say it was a R&R Circus rehearsal, but just a TV performance to promote BEGGAR's BANQUET. This is from November 29, 1968. smileys with beer
