The movie "Le Mans '66" is called "Ford v Ferrari" in the US.
With Matt Damon and Christian Bale, in theatres on 15th November.
Just found "Gimme Shelter" in the official

Hope it will be as good as the Le Mans Movie with
Steve McQueen and Siefried Rauch was.
That one was produced in 1971. So it was just a few years after the
legendary '60ies races took place.

In my humble opinion these sports car races from the early 50ies to the late
60ies was the best time in motorsports.

Thanks for posting MAF.
Looking forward.

Phil

I hope not. Any Steve McQueen fan will tell you that LeMans was probably his second-worst film. (Worst would have to be another vanity project, his well-intended adaptation of Ibsen's An Enemy of The People.)

Each his own.
I liked and still like that film a lot.

Steve was a great actor - for sure.
But myself. I'm not a big moviestar fan. I come from the motorsports scene.
So I'm pretty satisfied to see that there are some nice movies about that made.

Born in 1952 I was too young to be involved in that scene in the 50ies and 60ies. But was later in the 70ies 'til mid 90ies.
Some of you might remember the Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR) Jaguar XJR 15 racecars?
Friends of mine owned one of these and won the last of the three races (Monaco, Silverstone and Spa) you had to participate in
in Spa. A great time we had.
