Mick running on stage

Not seen this mentioned before so... has anyone seen Mick dash on the stage recently?

In stadiums, Mick would dash the entire width of the stage at a fabulous pace for anyone's age -- and look GREAT doing it. But the last time I saw him do it was Brown Sugar at San Diego 2015. Saw London 2018, Philly 2019, Rose Bowl 2019. I realize the last 2 was after his heart surgery, but has anyone seen him do a long dash since 2015?

The tour opener in Chicago.
Triumphant dash down and then back the catwalk during the opener, SFM.

It was fantastic to witness, his way of letting us all know he was back and doing just fine thanks. cool smiley

Mick would occasionally sprint across the stage up until the A Bigger Bang Tour. He’s seemed more static onstage since the comeback in 2012. Yes, there’s the odd dash and stretching of the legs, but not like he would fifteen years ago.

I'd be quite happy if he stayed relatively stationary and put his effort into
singing. Never liked the dashing about.

At the 82 European Tour, I read in the news then, he would be running a 30 kms per gig.

I've always thought that number is awfully far-fetched...there's no way anyone is covering that kind of ground during a concert.

That was 1981, but still seems high.

Of course, that energy powder he was using helped .......

There's no doubt that Mick has the endurance and athleticism for long-distance running...it's the logistics of covering such a distance during the course of a concert that doesn't add up to me.

Maybe he hit 2 miles at his most animated...but 6? Not buying it.

C'mon, one doesn't need to be Steven Hawking to know, that it is an utter nonsense. He would have to be running in the pace of 12 km/hour from the first to the last second of a 2,5 hour long gig.

Feeling the excitement from the crowd pumps Mick up, like it would with any musician up on stage in front of a large audience. The adrenaline is flowing. Long-distance running off-stage is a much different world. Would Mick excel at that? We don't know.

Is there an official definition of "long distance running"?

It was reported that Mick used to run 8 miles daily to get in cardio shape for Steel Wheels. I'm sure he stopped doing that a while ago.

Well I recommend no one should be running around a stage. The margin of error is tight and one could easily land into the audience or guard rail.

Maybe put a treadmill on stage, run in place and sing.

What I remember as well. Which is pretty much. But counts his feet movements. Not actually running.

I prefer that he SIT & sing....more ballads and slow tunes....and not because he's older but because it would be a welcome change. It might be necessary at some point soon, and that's OK. Seeing him sing " As Tears Go BY" from one microphone with Keith is a thrill....and the vocals are much better when not out of breathe!

Mick sit & sing....hmmmm....can't picture that for an entire show...maybe when he's 110 years old.

He doesn't really shuffle, but he often walks up on the balls of his feet while performing rather than his heels, which may be something he picked up from his ballet/dance training.
