Back in the day, the Black Crowes & Oasis toured together. The Gallagher brothers were amazed how much the Robinson brothers hated each other. Yes, those Gallagher brothers! Just goes to show: money talks.

No. There's been some other things, too!

Enjoyed their set at New Orleans Jazzfest on Friday. Didn’t realize that BlackBerry Smoke’s Charlie Starr was playing guitar with them, which gave some of their music a pronounced Skynyrd feel. They did not play the entire Shake Yer Money Maker album, in favor of a generous festival set stacked with highlights from throughout their career. Chris Robinson was very animated, and clearly has taken a few frontman cues from Mick Jagger. The double encore of Jealous Again (with guest Ivan Neville, wearing a Keith Richards baseball hat) and Remedy smoked! This is a hot band right now, with the Brothers Robinson looking and sounding good.

As a side note, Waddy Wachtel was on lead guitar for Stevie Nicks set Saturday on the same stage the Crowes played on Friday. It was her first time on stage in 3 years, and she and her band also put on a strong performance loaded with her solo hits and Fleetwood Mac highlights. Waddy played the Tom Petty role on I Won’t Back Down. A little later in the set, they also played Petty’s Free Fallin’. The encores were a tune for New Orleans that Stevie wrote after Katrina, followed by a spirited run through Led Zeppelin’s Rock & Roll, which had obvious significance for Ms. Nicks.

Two Winos appearances in two days. Maybe next year, Keith and Steve Jordan will have some free time, and the whole band can make an appearance?

Charlie Starr is awesome, love his band Blackberry Smoke, but see them live, their recordings don’t really capture their energy all that well.

I’m wondering how much money the Robinson Brothers are offering him to stay on?

I enjoyed their shows last year. If you like them and can get a decent ticket at a good price you should go.

Not surprising considering how diluted they've become, but that's about as low as you can get....

Yep - both diluted, as are The Who also with only two original members left.
But especially the so-called "Black Crowes" who have been around for a much shorter time than the Stones and The Who.

Black Crowes first album - 1990
The Who first album - 1965
Stones first album - 1964

And then you have longstanding 3rd member Ronnie who has been in the Stones longer than the Black Crowes have even existed!
And also have to consider the Black Crowes broke up for a lengthy period before this so-called "reunion", while the Stones have never broke up for any amount of time.
There might be a lengthy amount of time of non-activity for the Stones as if they're on hiatus, but they've always remained a band. Really not much of a comparison when you break it all down...
Bottom line - Black Crowes are overpriced, and the lack of tickets sales and interest this tour would seem to be proof of that.

I know all of that. Just trying to have some fun. I enjoyed The Black Crowes in 2021. If you saw them, what did you think?

Nope. I saw them back in 2001 with Oasis on the Tour of Brotherly Love, and have to say both bands were a bit weak.
I loved the first two Oasis two albums, but by then they were missing some of their key original members so understandable they weren't that great.
As for the Black Crowes? Never was a big fan of their retro/faux classic rock, and the only word I can think of to describe them live is obnoxious.

For the record, Pipien is back in.

I have seen the Crowes in so many different incarnations, that I can’t even remember who I’ve seen and who I have not!

When Ford left (both times) I thought that was it, finito, kaputt

Instead I have quite enjoyed almost all the guitarist that replaced him.

My fav BC concert was the umpteenth reunion dated 1995, at the hammertin in NY (great version of torn and frayed) and there was no Gorman back then either!

Good show last night, can't say I'm a huge fan of CR's singing but he's got tons of energy and Rich's guitar playing is terrific. They ended the show with Rocks Off after a wonderfully groovy "Remedy".

I saw them in Belgium.
The ‘Shake’ set couldn’t convince me. Chris was shouting the entire time and it felt obligatory.
After that it was ok, but it didn’t feel like the Black Crowes.
The concept is not right for them. And they need Steve Gorman.

The reunion was a pretty blatant cash grab that blew up because of COVID. I didn't like Chris Robinson's solo stuff but I thought the Magpie Salute were at least as good as prime Black Crowes if not better. I was sorry to see them get pushed aside for the reunion.

I was a bit disappointed with Magpie Salute .

Probably my fault... I think I wanted it to be too much like the Crows.
