how close did a bigger bang come to be called Manhattan Beach. I know mick has said in a few interviews, that was the original idea. I actually just came upon these stage plans that says Manhattan Beach on them

For a moment I thought that was a working title of B2B, in addition to Blessed Poison. Was there something NYC-related that I confused it with?

Glad to download the Blueprint pics from that ad. Was in the upper left in E. Hartford (they gave us Bigger Bang guitar pics during the show) and the lower right for E. Rutherford and Hershey.

Would certainly have preferred this as the title.

Was it not Malibu Beach?

Manhattan Beach is in Los Angeles. [en.wikipedia.org]

And yes, the blueprints clearly show it was the tour name at that point. This was discussed on iorr at the time.

There is also a Manhattan Beach in Brooklyn. It is east of Brighton Beach and Coney Island. But, these are neighborhoods within NYC, not politically separate towns/cities. Certainly the one in CA is far more well known but as a New Yorker who spent a far amount of time in that part of the city, this is the Manhattan Beach that I think of when I hear it referenced.

Manhattan Beach is mentioned in the ABB booklet. It was the mixing studio or something.... but it was contemplated as a title. There were newspapers reporting it as the name back then. Hell there was even an article that said the name was Neocon.

Thank god it wasn't called that.

A Bigger Bang is so much better.

Isn't that the NYC studio from where we got the alternate versions from?
