That's what I thought. I hadn't seen them before (although I'm certainly no authority on the Stones). Amazing clarity though, look like they were taken yesterday.

That was most awesome and I am happy that you posted that for us . The You Tube clip was to die for as the Stones were blazing and if we got that snippet I have to think the complete show is out there and I hope and pray this is an upcoming From The Vault release . We cant be teased like that with pristine video/audio and not DEMAND the entire SHOW please ! Some say they like the 73 Tour more than the 72 Tour and if Brussels and this clip is an indication of the magic of 73 I might have to change my mind as well and Brussels as Mick said is a "Guitar Assault " hot smiley

Just never really understood or liked Mick's clothes on 1972 tour. In color they look even more ridiculous to me. Just not my definition of cool...but a lot of bands were also trying to find their image that year.

Double disk:

LA Nicaraguan Benefit Concert

One of the Australian shows (I like Perth - which the bootleg isn’t complete a la Leeds, so it gives them a reason to release it)

Hey Rockman that’s an awesome set of shows to have on your resume. Just curious how loud was it? It doesn’t look like a lot of amps from that stage angle. Also it looks like a very cheap cheesy stage considering it was 73 not 63.

My uncle was at the Randwick Racecourse show. He says that they came on stage through the white canvas - he said there was a section of the white canvas that the bouncer dude held open and the Stones stepped through. Was anyone else there at Aus shows whoncan verify this?

Made front row for all three shows …. For security Stones had
hired guys from Bob Jones Karate School to stand in front of
audience till about 3-4 songs into set uand then Stones bodyguard
Leroy would give the nod for karate guys to part and audience
would just surge forward to the stage....

There was three-bar steel railing like a giant truck
bull-bar running across the front of stage and if you made it
to railing you could stand on the second rung and rest your
elbows on the edge of the stage …. Jagger would often
tease dance within inches of the front row people ……

The sound was loud there at front of stage … you had to YELL
if you wanted to communicate to the person beside you ….
The amps were right behind the band covered in white cloth ……. GREAT TIMES

Yeah I was at the WACA same tour. Hot there too! Got to within about 10 mtrs of stage. Plenty loud.

It was my first date with my (still) wife - Still Wife? That'd make a great live album name!...She is so short that even at 10 mtrs back I had to have her stand on two full cans of coke to give her an additional 6" or so of height!

Reviews in the paper the following day were universal in praise and also made a point of mentioning the smell of pot drifting all over the WACA!

I loved the show, but for me it didn't really take off until You Can't Always Get What you Want. From then on the crowd and the band went crazy.

To be so close to my musical idols! To be beaten when I sat on the edge of the stage at The Enmore in 2003...wowee! Touched Mick's shoe - he looked down at me with the look of "touch me again and you're dead" - fair enough I suppose!. Keith rubbed my hair. Keith got down on one knee in front of me playing the opening of Honky Tonk one handed, the other raised in the air. Leaned over to me and said "how fuck1ng easy is this?". GREAT times.

Rod

Down Under '73 (once again)
Date: December 18, 2019 03:30

I have a Q re. the great '73 Down Under shows. IMO they are the best live sets they ever laid down, but there aren't all that many photos. And we know they cancelled a few shows.
I was always under the impression that Adelaide was that outdoor show with the sun umbrellas, and Stan Moore. The one that looks like a scorcher in the sun. But now I think those are Melbourne.

But now I have seen these other pics, that I had actually never seen. It amazes me that I still come across unseen shows. I wonder if these are Adelaide; or possibly Honolulu? Make sure to side-scroll to include Keith. Big pics.

The last one I am not even sure about. The jacket says '73; maybe even Long Beach '72.

I don't like bumping my own thread. But I'm thinking that probably many have not seen these pics. I am trying to find out where they are from.

The big photos are from Sydney.

The one with the Mick in the jacket is Adelaide.

The colour ones and the daytime ones are Melbourne.

Have never seen any pics of the Brisbane show.

Also it would be great to get a proper picture of the stage in Sydney. I also wish that there were photos or vidoe of them arriving in the horse and carriage.
