That's Keith playing the Maton guitar that he recorded Gimme Shelter on. Apparently the neck of the guitar fell off right at the end of the take and you can hear it if you listen closely
That last one sort of looks like Jamaica to me.

Yup! Not a full band session though. Mick & Keith worked on more new material together with Don Was and Steve Jordan must have attended as well.

"Mick and I got together for a few days a month or so ago in the studio, just playing around. It was great, man. We knocked out a few songs together with Don Was. We’re just working things through. We had a great time — got some nice stuff out of it."

I was thinking this may be one of those rare times where they are doing the song that we think it is, i.e. "Gimme Shelter". Keith has never mentioned the Maton except for that song. Keith is up there around C#. Maybe...Quote

Love all of these pics from Redlands!! Do you know when exactly in 1968 these were taken? Mick looks like the way he did for the filming of "Performance" and the "Rock and Roll Circus" which would make this anywhere from September-December 1968, or maybe even early 1969.
