Good old memories.
It took a few days or just some weeks to record a new record.

Then month, and now years or lifetimes or ages without any result (don't talk about blues covers or shit like England Lost etc.).

That's really sad.

These were the recording dates for GOATS HEAD SOUP:

25th - 30th November & 6th - 21st December: Kingston, Jamaica, Dynamic Sounds Studios

27th January - 5th February: Los Angeles, Village Recorders (First Mixing Sessions)

28th May onwards: London, Island Recording Studios (Mixing & Overdubbing)

All in all about 3 weeks of recording and a couple months of mixing and overdubbing. Even now, the time it's taking them to record this new album is out of the ordinary. The Who recorded their new album in about 6 months.

At this very late date of IORR's existence there are STILL photos here to now unseen??
The studio thread may be one of the best ever. I can not believe that classic Mick & Keith shot always had Bonnie in there too. I understand that Mick probably wasn't too crazy about the second one.

I know. The band picture above could be made during the recording of Midnight Rambler on February 9/10 and/or March 10/11. (www.nzentgraf.de). In late March and April, Brians appearances at Olympic became a rarity. However, on most (late 1968 and) 1969 pictures Brian looks very unhealthy. See the book by Paul Trynka.

I referring to a "BAND picture above". Check the first photos in this thread. Jagger has a harmonica, so they probably didn't record Gimme Shelter at that moment. Most of us know that Brian played on MR.

I'm kind of thinking that the band picture with Brian was from April '69 if that was indeed when they were recording Midnight Rambler. It's odd the recording dates for Midnight Rambler list February-March 1969, but Mick and Keith didn't write the song until they holidayed in Positano, Italy in April 1969.

Keith Richards & Mick Jagger: Italy & "Midnight Rambler"

Keith: (We wrote some of the songs for Let It Bleed in) Positano, south of Naples in (Italy). We'd been there before. We knew the place vaguely and someone offered us their house there. It was empty, barren, very cold. Huge fires and we just sat and wrote. Did Midnight Rambler there, Monkey Man and some others.

Mick: Midnight Rambler is a song Keith and I really wrote together. We were on a holiday in Italy. In this very beautiful hill town, Positano, for a few nights. Why we should write such a dark song in this beautiful, sunny place, I really don't know. We wrote everything there - the tempo changes, everything. And I'm playing the harmonica in these little cafés, and there's Keith with the guitar.
