Mick Jagger's finest moment as a singer?

Mick Jagger may not have the greatest singing voice in the world, but he sure as hell is the finest damn rock and roll singer and frontman in the history of rock music. What do you think was his finest moment as a singer? I think EXILE ON MAIN STREET was his best album and the songs "Moonlight Mile" and "Let It Loose" are in my opinion his finest vocal achievements.

He's had so many.

Not everyone's favorite album, but his vocals on Black and Blue were outstanding and so varied.
From the gritty "Crazy Mama" to the sublime "Melody".
Stunning album that really showcases his vocal range at it's peak imo cool smiley

Too many finest moments to narrow down to a simple answer.

One that immediately comes to mind though is Street Fighting Man

And then there's Sympathy.

And then something like this: If I Was a Dancer" [Dance Pt. 2]

And this: Time Is On My Side

And on and on and on............

Little Boy Blue & Da Blue Boys -- Little Queenie --
I mean how did he know how ta do that ….

The clipped tongue black jive of
Sweet Black Angel …. hey it's pretty good man

And yeah fragility but control of Little Rain …

The swamp vocals of Hoo Doo Blues......

The sexuality of King Bee ….. The put down of Under the Radar …..

How many more ya want ????????

The “Na Na Na Na Na - Yeah A - Yeah A” before the final guitar solo on “Shine A Light.”

Plus, I’ll add this as a personal like, with an understanding that there are many, many great moments with the band. But his backing vocals on “You’re So Vain” - they are pure Jagger. Every time I hear those BVs cranked on the car system they bring a smile to my face.

I'm not sure i'd call it singing or even close to his finest moment, but have always gotten a kick out of his insane outro on Monkey Man. It just comes across as being totally uninhibited-like a monkey.

My top 3

No 1

"Yeah, I'm coming home
'Cause, I'm just about a moonlight mile on down the road
Down the road, down the road"

No 2

I've been walking in Central Park, singing after dark
People think I'm crazy
Stumbling on my feet, shuffling through the street
Asking people, tchk thck thck: What's the matter with you boy?

No.3

I'm alone at last
And something inside of me knows
I could have loved in vain for a thousand years
I have to let her go

I've got to let her go
I've got to say goodbye

How can I say goodbye to my baby?

Almost made it to the top 3, in no particular order

"Would it satisfy you? Would it slide on by you?
Would you think the boy is strange?
Ain't he strange?" - Love You Live version

I'm a fool, baby, ah yeah
Ooh certified fool for you

All this chitter chatter, chitter chatter, chitter chatter
About shmatta, shmatta, shmatta

I was driving home early Sunday morning through Bakersfield, listening to gospel music on the colored radio station
And the preacher said You know, you always have the Lord by your side
And I was so pleased to be informed of this that I ran 20 red lights in his honor
Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord

Maybe I'll become a playboy, hang around in gay bars
And move to the west side of town

The FULL side B of Tattoo You

The finale of Hide Away

Sweet thing

"I'll be the weeping willow drowning in my tears
You can go swimming when you're here
I'll be the rainbow when the sun is gone
Wrap you in my colors and keep you warm"

the whispered "Angie"

As Tears Go By
Angie
Moonlight Mile
Miss You
Start Me Up
Undercover Of The Night
Hoodoo Blues

And I'd say he has a GREAT singing voice, but not the best technique. A unique voice. It just sounds different and good, no matter what he does (almost).

Interesting selection. I think you are right on. Most performers including todays tough guys would have been crying for mama at Altamont. Mick and the band stood their ground and delivered.

I 'm sure I'm in the minority, but I love the falsetto - "Fool To Cry", "Worried About You", "Emotional Rescue", etc.

Well timmyj3 - good interpretation and positive mind you have.
But you don´t should spend your time on folks here who just want to offend IORR'ers on and on and on and on. Sooooo boring.

top 2 for me are Gimme Shelter and Sympathy. But definitely entire Exile gets a nod, especially as mentioned Let It Loose ... and Sticky w/ Moonlight. But don't leave out All Down the Line, another great one.

And glad to sees someone mentioned Little Rain, I love his singing on that cover.
