i think rugby has lost a lot of credibility with the situation that games could be cancelled and teams go out of the tournament due to playing less games or teams getting through having played more games.

i cant recall this type of situation happening in any other sport.

it defeats sporting integrity.

I agree - utterly farcical. Scotland didn't know if they had a game until the last minute. But they gave it their all and were beaten by a very good side. As I said before, disappointing for we Scots but at least it was settled on the field, albeit after disrupted prep.

Ireland V New Zealand tonight @ 3:15am. There needs to be a serious up in the intensity levels if they’re to have a good dig at the kiwis. It can’t be the rigid structured rugby it’s been till now. It needs a bit of magic and creation to beat NZ. I don’t mind loosing if you go down fighting, I expect Ireland to hit NZ hard tonight. I think Schmidt has been focused on this game for a long time.

A quarter final has thus far been our Waterloo....

We need 15 “Laochs” on the field to win this.

Oh it’s bad so very very bad. Men against boys. Ireland are without leaders of any sort. I’m worried what the final score will be eye rolling smiley

Wales seem to always find a way to win! They can thank France for their sheer stupidity. The red card was one of the worst cheap shots I have ever seen, that player should be banned from the French team for life.

Japan probably definitely the story of the tournament so far, not just the team, but the fans supporting all the teams. I have friends in country right now who are loving the hospitality, environment and culture.

This game is tense NZL v ENG, 0 - 10 at halftime, England have played out of their skins, The All Blacks haven't fired a shot really, I think they have just been absorbing the initial surge.

Substitutes could be a major here today, New Zealand have Sonny Bill Williams on the bench and he's a beast, former heavyweight boxing champ, represented NZ in 3 sports... and he smashes people

Congrats to England, totally dominant display, they attacked up front and had the size and commitment to take the game by the scruff of it's neck. Brilliant tactics, great coaching, fantastic execution

It’s taken me till now to get this out minus a retching feeling in my stomach.

Congratulations to England on a top performance against NZ. From the first minute you were aggressive and quick. I didn’t think it could be sustained for the 80-85 mins you needed it for, but you did. A brilliant physical performance. You did everything Ireland failed to do.

It will take me 6 months to congratulate you if you win the World Cup. grinning smiley

Congrats to South Africa in the win, no need for any shame in the English team. They were physical all through, but SA defence was solid as anything I’ve seen.

Congrats to South Africa Springboks !
I believe most of Japanese wants them to win the cup after we defeated.

This is the best rugby WC ever for us, Japanese.

See you in 4 years at France !smiling smiley

The better team certainly deserved their win in the World Cup Final...….and that's coming from an English guy who was so sure our team would win...…………..smileys with beer

After the way that England completely subsumed New Zealand last week I couldn't see anyone else winning the trophy.
South Africa had other ideas and deservedly won the competition.
