1st on that?......It would be tight between several Neil Young songs and.......Ian Dury's........Sweet Gene Vincent.,,,,,,A work of a genius

I like a lot of music...The Rolling Stones are my favorite band but they are not the only thing I listen to, nor do they have a monopoly on great music.

To make sure what the question is about: you consider Maggie May to be a better song than any song the Stones ever made? Or is the question rather: did other artists made good songs too? In which case the question is like the opposite: not all Stones songs are better than any song any other artists ever made (which would go without saying, really).

I am one of the very few, who love "Gomper". I like it even better than "Layla". I probably won't win anything or have honourable mention thereby, it seems. With "Gomper" in mind, that does not matter. To be able to love "Gomper", it is one's own reward. For it is one key to not only like a couple of songs on THEIR SATANIC MAJESTIES REQUEST, but to love that album as a whole and consider it as one of this band's great albums.

By the way, neither do I understand the theme of this thread.
