Only 4 discs?!?

If it were 8 or 10, I'd pay anything

But they all are different confused smiley

Hopefully they'll release a super duper deluxe with 10 discs, that'll have the same song lineup, but with different levels of compression.

Depending on my mindset (ie, hungry, thirsty, moody, crave attention), I tend to vary how much top and bottom end frequency I enjoy.

well, I don't want to sound cynical but the big advantage with dead artists is that they don't have to be consulted about releases from their vaults and/or dustbins. Plus there are usually heirs who want to make some easy money

For a future LIB box, they should focus more on the midrange.

Exactly Schillid. The Stones seem to be the only Triple AAA artist who can't get their super deluxe releases, well, super deluxey. Apart from the book, it's a box of trinkets.

I refused to purchase the Beggars Banqut so called Deluxe Box Set due to missing specialties. It's the same with that one. Why the hell shall I buy a box set containing of basically four times the same songs? Because of a nice booklet? Don' think so.

Could the strategy be to debase the value of the old catalog so the estate can buy it at a good price, and then monetize it?
Course will there be a market for this in 20 years?

Were they really called "Deluxe"? They are more like anniversary editions. The improved sound being what you're paying for.

You cannot help but compare them to the pkgs for THE BEATLES and for ABBEY ROAD. These Stones sets are anemic to say the least, and downright insulting if you want to get real.

He may not AAA, but at least AA, but Bob Seger has never put out ANY kind of boxset.

Hell, I could pick out a great one for him with at least one CD of rarities.

If I had a system worthy of having a good remaster a good time to listen to I'd probably get it since the album is outstanding sound and production wise - but I have no reason to get it since the 2002 remaster still sounds excellent to me.

Saw it today, but didn’t pick it up. Is this version different from the ABKCO clear vinyl release a few years ago?

I listened to the album on Apple Music and would definitely say this remaster sounds excellent. Very clear and a little background noise I found present on the 2002 remaster was gone here...maybe less reverb? Still, it's very insulting to not have any bonus material on this release. We should at least have gotten some rare early versions of "Midnight Rambler" or "Monkey Man."

Any other reports about the new 50th anniversary 'Let it Bleed' album? Is it as heavily panned (sonically, not critically) as 'Beggars'?

As a vinyl fan, I'd been hoping for an Abbey Road job...like BB....and for a sensible money option without a load of extras.

I can neither afford not justify the cost of this package just in the slender hope that it might include a great sounding LP .

[It's a shame because Abbey Road did a superb job on BB.]

So I'm a bit disappointed and will stick with what I've got.

[I have a couple of 70's Decca pressings of LIB in pretty good nick and the previous Abkco remaster is actually half way decent for this album.]

Yeah, it seems I'll be skipping this one too. I have the 2002 SACD and the more recent Mono CD edition, though with that one being a fold-down (as I understand it?) the 2002 copy is still my go to.

I think it will appear in full within a couple of weeks on one known site.

Almost everyone thinks I am crazy for buying the 50th Anniversary box set. But I don't care. I absolutely love it. It is as much a visual and emotional purchase for me as an auditory one. I remember like it was yesterday buying the album when it was released in 1969, then smuggling it up to my bedroom to avoid a face off with my dad, who hated The Stones and would have taken a very poor view of my lashing out one pound nineteen shillings and sixpence (£1.95 or $3.00) on a long playing record of 'that racket'.

In the intervening years I have accumulated several other copies of the album - on vinyl, cassette tape, CD - but now, almost exactly 50 years later to the day, I have bought the ultimate edition of this fantastic album. This box is the creme-de-la-creme and, for me, worth every penny.

Listening via Amazon HD stream right now. Love In Vain sounds fantastic although Amazon have erroneously included a live version of Live With Me in the album for some reason.

I'm pretty happy with my ca.1981 Decca vinyl and my mono CD from the box but might be persuaded to shell out for the single CD. Not bothered about the new box though.

I don't see any reason to buy it. If there were unseen video footages from the studio recordings or LIB songs played during the NA tour 1969 (not the versions from "Gimme Shelter"), or even unreleased songs or song versions I'd definitely go with it. In this case, no.

+1 Vinyl, CD, SACD, Blu Ray, high-res, whatever. I'm kind of a bitch for my favorite Stones album and have been for 50 years.
