I really enjoy the Let It Bleed Blu-ray, alternate take, etc. boots in decent quality, and have two versions of Ethan Russel's Let It Bleed book so nothing at all enticing about this for me. Another ABKO cash grab.

From the official announcement by [www.Abkco.com] :

"Eleven-time Grammy-winning mastering engineer Bob Ludwig was tasked with remastering this edition of Let It Bleed and worked from Direct Stream Digital files taken from the original tapes at a 2.8 MHz sampling rate. 'When we did the first Let It Bleed remaster in 2002, our intention was to pay homage to the original work', said Ludwig, who is no stranger to the Stones catalog, having mastered or remastered many of their classic albums over the past four decades. 'When we did this new version, the purpose was to make it as great as it could possibly sound. If you listen on a good set of speakers or good headphones, you’ll hear subtle things in the background that are now much more clear that were somewhat hidden before'."

3rd year in a row of having the 2002 SACD's and the Mono Box CD's makes this deluxe an easy pass yet again.

It's criminal what passes for a "Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary" anything, ain't it? Compare this gleaming turd with the recent Abbey Road 50th Anniv release ... geez!

The 1969 mono version is still the best sounding version of Let It Bleed.
But now we get it brickwalled and tweaked, I'd bet.
A straight, cheap, LP or CD of that original mono, would be far better than whatever will reach thousands of allready overfilled, dusty "rolling stones shelves" now. But of course....not much money to be made on cheap single CDs now.
The mono version in the 2016 mono box is neither brickwalled nor tweaked. I guess that's the version they will use for the new set.

Another hugely wasted opportunity. Why not a full 1969 audio and the Video from Maysle Brothers of complete MSG show. Now that would be a release. I have the mono, Blu-ray audio, sacd , stereo and of course the vinyl. I’m saving my money

Just for the fun of it they could do it in reverse order, but not even that they can do.

How much more can Russell have after all these years? If there are a bunch of unseen photos, I might be in.

Am I mistaken or is the Mono not a fold down Stereo? Pretty sure the last 2 songs in true mono are Sympathy and Street Fighting Man. Other than that if a person doesn't already own the original Decca LPs I guess it's a good idea.

Judging from the SMU memorabilia on the wall, perhaps this is backstage on 13 Nov before the Moody Coliseum show?

Didn't Keith already say that about the 2002 SACD? He heard things he forgot about.

How much can a remaster affect the sound? Little compression here, some extra treble there, but still almost the same. A new stereo mix and a real mono mix and why not a 5.1 mix as well. That would be something that I would pay for.
