I would not worry at all. The show is on until it is off. Why worry? We will know more in two days. The chance of two out of seventeen shows on a tour being bothered by hurricanes is slim if you run it through a computer, even if they are in a hurricane season. Meanwhile, just relax and we will be fine.

Hear hear!!!!

If it stays on the latest projected course, winds near the concert will not be bad and rain might not be bad, even if it becomes a weak hurricane. However, as others have said, it's too early to assume it's course/strength won't be a major problem in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area.
Let's hope it's course keeps veering to the north; if so it won't be an issue at all regarding the concert; and maybe not for air travel either. But those planning on flying out Sunday, should be prepared for flight cancellations.

In a stadium with a capacity of more 70.000 ?

And a postponed show means less spectators in the end : "only" 35,000 in New Orleans.

The stage set up allowed "only" 35000. That's to do with ticket sales, not a "hurricane".

waking up to quite a different track.

Getting much stronger and will now be a hurricane when it hits Florida.
But also looks to be moving north, farther away from Miami.
We shall see.

Also a different timelime. Now says it wont make landfall til early Monday morning.

So maybe we're still on for Saturday night.

I disagree. This thing is now looking like it won't make Florida landfall until Monday morning.

Actually, looking much better than it was - as far as timing/area goes.

More like Daytona area Monday morning.

Asked my friend who lives in Miami if she's worried about Dorian and she told me not in the least. I'm hopeful. It's only rock and roll.

We are assuming that it will hit right at the middle of the cone. Heard on the weather channel this morning that is only correct 75% of the time and there is a 200 mile margin of error.

For what its worth, Virgin Atlantic have just announced they are offering refunds or free changes for passengers who have booked 31AUG-01SEP to fly in to Orlando. No mention of Miami, which must be a good indication that the storm is indeed heading further North.

American Airlines is not even currently including Miami in its travel advisory due to weather and Miami is a huge hub for American.

I think everything will end up being fine. They will sneak the show in and it will be a great night. The difference between this one and NOLA is that the show was rescheduled to allow the storm to pass. They will probably have a nice window to get this Miami show in before the hurricane.

Take everything on here with a grain of salt unless BV says it. If I had listened to some people on here for the NOLA situation, I would have missed the show.

See everyone in Miami on Saturday!!

The two most reliable models -- American and European -- diverge wildly, causing the unusually large cone. The American model takes Dorian along the northern edge of the cone, then curving up to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Unfortunately, the historically more reliable European model hugs the southern edge of the cone and targets northern Palm Beach.

Keep in mind the farther south Dorian makes landfall, the sooner it will hit.

While South Florida can find this encouraging, again, we're not out of the woods yet.

Many, many people down here have friends and relatives living up along Florida's East Coast, so people who say in Miami, nobody's worried is incorrect.

If Daytona is the target then S. Florida may be spared. But Daytona i.e. Jaxville to the North is densely populated. Not Good anyway ya look at it.

The bleachers -up- are sheltered. But those tickets are reserved for Dylan fans who have listened to "Shelter from the Storm" at least a hundred times via Hard Rain spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Everyone in town remembers
The last hurricane
Everyone in town hopes
It won't happen again

Oh, how it shrieks
Days turn into weeks
Cause nobody knew
Which way the wind blows

But, oh, how it shrieks
Days turn into weeks
Cause nobody knows
Which way the wind blows

Everyone in town remembers
The last hurricane
Everyone in town hopes
It doesn't happen again

Cause, oh how it shrieks
Days turn into weeks

And nobody knew
No one in town knew
Which way the wind blew

Is "Dorian" a man's name or a woman's?

Maybe it's a good time to play "Dancing With Mr. D"

2019 Hurricane Names

Hurricanes are named alphabetically from a predetermined list beginning the letter “A” through “W”, excluding names that begin with “Q” or “U.”
A storm is first named by the National Hurricane Center when the system becomes a tropical storm and the name remains as it develops into a hurricane or until it dissipates.

The most devastating hurricane names are retired and another name replaces it.
