Don’t be silly. This is the man who sued his bandmates for continuing to use the Pink Floyd name. He loves his money.

Great to see artists doing this.I recently closed my Facebook account as I loathe censorship and am becoming more and more intolerant to it.

Nate

Well done, Nate. Facebook and Twitter are becoming more and more censorious, not to mention being cesspools of negativity that waste people's time and create division and hatred in society.

When that is said, on Facebook you can't even post an album cover without expecting the hounds to be on your trail.

I agree any private site is entitled to make it’s own rules but some of the rules are ludicrous.I attempted to post a Helmut Newton photograph on Facebook but it turns out you are not allowed to show nudity.
What on earth is wrong with looking at a beautiful naked woman.

What’s wrong with a kid seeing a photograph of a naked woman it’s completely natural. There is a gargantuan difference between a Helmut Newton photograph of a nude and some low class porno photo they are two completely different things.
As the son of an art director I grew up being surrounded by great images some of which were nudes and it did me no harm at all.

It doesn't offend me in the least as I was just speaking as to the logic of the rules of decency

Yeah I wasn’t talking about anyone here and I don’t believe most people would be offended.

Roger Waters goes off on Mark Zuckerberg regarding his request to use the song "Another Brick In The Wall II". I'm not a fan of Pink Floyd or Waters, but I'll give the man props for speaking his mind regarding his art/work. This might be out there regarding verboten topics here. If so, BV, please disappear it. I'm not posting it up to offend anyone.

My sentiments exactly. I’ve never been a fan of Pink Floyd but when I saw the article yesterday, I thought, “Good for him”.

So, why Roger didn't close his Instagram account ?
He belongs to "the Facebook system".
He is just another brick in the wall.

As this is a historic discovery, hitting the number one spot on today's Japanese charts is persuasive.

When they came on stage, a fog rolled in around the stage.
That was 1971. There didn't exist smoke machine or fog machine at that time.
Audience couldn't aware of what was going on around them.
Some believed that was act of nature and some believed contraband hallucination.smiling smiley

I am confused. Roger Waters has an Instagram account. If he doesn’t want his music used to promote it, that’s fair. But to rail against a mechanism you use to promote your music is hypocritical.

Naughty Roger, wanting it both ways. All in all it’s all about selling.

Well, you are judging him for giving his opinion by giving your opinion. In other words, in your opinion he shouldnt have his opinion.

I think an artist is entitled to speak up and be vocal where his 'art" is used and where he doesn't want it . After all he created it and is entitled to use it as he sees fit .

This has probably been mentioned in this thread, but the Pink Floyd exhibit, Their Mortal Remains, opens in Los Angeles I believe today (Sept. 3rd) after a short delay in getting things shipped in time. It's at the Vogue Museum on Hollywood Blvd. I'm scheduled to do a quick LA trip to see it on Sept. 18, followed by dinner at next door Musso and Frank (if you've ever seen Once Upon a Time in Hollywood or The Kaminsky Method, you'll know it).
I shall report back!

This should be pretty cool to see how all the graphics for the album, concerts and movie were put together.

Thanks for sharing Irix

I had the good fortune to make a quick trip to LA over the weekend to see the Floyd Exhibit, Their Mortal Remains. Really terrific - very similar to the Stones Exhibitionism, or David Bowie IS, in size and scope and layout. Lots of very cool stuff - A replica of 'part' of the Wall, complete with some of the puppets (the teacher) was one highlight.
One of my favorite bits though was much smaller - a small screen showing Rick Wright playing Great Gig in the Sky, solo, just him on the piano. That song gets me every time.
Anyway - it's on Hollywood Blvd. (aka, Crazy town) through Jan. I think - for anyone going to the Stones LA shows, or in the LA area, I highly recommend it!

"Pink Floyd are done", David Gilmour recently said (in connection with Momentary Laps of Reason Reissue), "but I am all for Roger going out on the road and having all of whatever fun he can get".
