As others have said, I would too if I could make demands on a hotel. I've slept on some terrible mattresses in my day, and in his mid-70s, sir Michael may have back problems. That said, it sounds like a made up story just to get in the double entendre about "breaking in the mattress", nudge nudge.

Of course Mick would never admit it, but I'd be very surprised if he had any back issues with his core strength and the way he moves.

A sore back is no fun...I don't wish that on anyone.

Me too - I've slept in Budget-Hotels and the bed linen smelled like a whole box of laundry detergent and the mattress like a cold ashtray ....

Well, The Sun isn't the most reliable of sources. I have seen more demanding raiders though. The cost of a new mattress is negligible. These guys stay in suites of course.

And I would imagine that the sort of hotel the Stones use has new mattresses in stock on the premises. It's not that huge a demand to ask them to break one out early.

In the US you dont have to bring furniture when you stay at a hotel.

At the rates MJ pays I'm sure its not an unreasonable request.

Now the staff member to break in the mattress with is a little more unusual

Those were the days...

A mattress no.......... a pillow I can imagine although I never took my pillow to a hotel.......... I see a lot of elderly people who bring their pillow with them..
