Need Recommendations of Websites to Store Pics So I Can Post Them on IORR

Is there an easy, free website or other option where I can save my fotos for later posting here on these boards? Photobucket now wants me to pay, saying I am at their free option limit. I have put only about 5 pics on in the last year, so that is a bit strange.

note: I don't want to just post a link, but post the actual fotos so they show up immediately as you scroll down the page.

I like cubeupload.com
You need to register w/ an email address, but it's free and I believe they don't compress images (unless, perhaps, they are ultra-large). I recently posted a photo here that is hosted @ cubeupload and there was no problem w/ the display. Hope this helps smiling smiley

I use imgur.

Google drive work's fine, too, but you need a different code.

Check schillid's thread about codes and photos.

Google Drive works ... but the codes are a pain in the ass.
Google Drive is were I dumped all the stuff from The ATTIC after Photobucket got fvcked up.

I prefer imgur ... much easier to copy & paste picture links on iorr, for sure.

It’s amazing how complicated this is.

Legal stuff, space/size, security, protocols, many parts of image handling do make this complicated.

You could use Flickr or Tumblr for storage...

Tumblr for free. SmugMug.com for a few (but worth it if you want quality and to control size).

I looked at my posts of my fotos from the TOTA '75 shows at the Cow Palace in San Francisco on this forum, the source of which was Photobucket and they are all not only watermarked which has been the case for a while, but now they are all BLURRED. I then logged directly into my Photobucket account and this message pops up:

You have reached your 25MB hosting bandwidth limit
You have reached the hosting bandwidth based on the past 30 days of usage. Your hosted images are watermarked and blurred. To restore hosting privileges, simply upgrade to the Intermediate at $6.29 to give you unlimited monthly hosting bandwidth as well as larger image storage limits.

Even though I am personally logged into my Photobucket account and was not transferring anything to any other site such as IORR, the images are whacky, or some of them anyway. They appear elongated and such. I can't even look at my own fotos PRIVATELY so they appear normal and viewable.

They are doing everything in their power to FORCE me to pay.

Can I extract my fotos away from their site so I can post them elsewhere in one or more of the sites you all have suggested above? Or will they block me from even doing such an extraction?

WARNING

Currently several popup windows and videos on the Photobucket site are click bait attempting to trick you into downloading malware by clicking on a FAKE Flash update...

I was attempting to locate a photo that I thought might still be on PB... and I fell for it! I ended up with malware on my computer! "Searchmine" is the name of the malware... it hijacked both Chrome and Safari browsers, reseting home pages, altering search results, etc! YIKES! It took me a full day to eradicate the virus!

DON'T FALL FOR IT! Don't click on strange windows within Photobucket!

Several months ago I logged in to Photobucket, then selected my photos ... then downloaded all of them back to my hard drive, before uploading them to my Google Drive (and then Imgur). But I don't see the download option at PB anymore.

Gonna delete my PB account soon.

You could run Malwarebytes to clean your OS.

Malwarebytes was not able to remove all of the searchmine malware components.

I deleted my Photobucket account this morning.

As I mentioned, Google Drive was handy to backup the whole load of photos into one place (in addition to my own hard drive)...

I don't deal with PB anymore.

But the code to post images from Google drive is complicated ...

Instead I upload new images now to IMGUR, which is much easier to post [ img] tags on this forum.

For some old posts here on iorr (especially in The ATTIC), I've edited old posts, replacing PB links with Imgur.
