They were great live. Not as good as the Stones in any way though. But check out I'm Down from Shea Stadium. Truly awesome.

It's a dumb idea of course, since Paul McCartney doesn't fit with the greatest rock and roll band in the world. Nevertheless, no matter how much you wish it were not true, the Stones owe everything to the Beatles. They would be nowhere today if it were not for the Beatles, and neither would the also rans like the Who and the Kinks.

In today's news"

"Beatles Finish No. 1 on All-Time Icons List

The Beatles — you remember them — have finished at No. 1 on a list of 100 all-time show business icons.

The list has been compiled by Variety, the trade publication, in celebration of its 100th birthday."

Of course McCartney is not going to join anybody else's band at this point, but it would be cool to see him make a guest appearance on a couple of songs. One of which would have to be I Wanna Be Your Man. How cool would that be? Maybe they could get Ringo to play along with Charlie and sing back up vocals for that one as well.

Yes JKF you said it!You summed it up the best. The beatles weren't any worse musicians than the stones-different styles I'd say.
Ringo said that Charlie is his favourite drummer-how 'bout that!(He's not "human joke"-he can play-listen to Yer blues)
And has anybody seen the cover of uncut issue before last-Keith and Paul with a friendly hug!!(They almost look like being in the band together!)

Silly discussion. The Beatles and The Rolling Stones are the two best bands in history. On pop band and one rock'n roll band. And the band members have been friends all along. They even agreed on when to put out their new singles not to step on each others toes. But it would ruin the image of being on two different planets if they startet playing together.

This discussion is as silly as when people wanted Julian to take his dads place in a reunion of The Beatles. ..... Who are the people who even get these ideas?

And by the way: What's wrong with Obladi Oblada? It's a great uplifting little song with a catchy chorus. It's a feelgood song.
