I just read that it has the size op a golf ball.
By the way, the lottery winner will have to take a flag with the Stones Tongue&Lips logo along and place it on the spot where that little rock currently is.

A language difference: in British English, something the size of a pebble is a stone. To qualify as a rock it needs to be a lot bigger. Whereas US 'rocks' can be quite small.

And Green Lady, you must be English then. NASA is American, so indeed "rock". Ah well, it "rolled" about a meter (or just over a yard ), which nicely fits in with "rock", I'd say. But a "rolling stone" is just as fine and together gives us a "Rock and rolling Rolling Stone" .

They are "from a different planet" anyway. They landed in the Bricklayers Arms pub a long, long time ago without even knowing where they came from. It must have been Aldebaran or maybe even Sirius, or was it Mars after all? But a strange bunch of guys the were anyway and they have millions of followers these days ...

This is actually old news. I was at the concert in LA when Robert Downey Jr. made the announcement of the rock on Mars being named after the Rolling Stones and when Mick said he would like to have it on his mantlepiece!

They had some cool merch commemorating the honor as well..
