Well it's been pointed out that "criminally underplayed" is questionable wording. Like how many warhorses can they get away with as a minor offence, at which point does the FBI get involved? You get what you ask for

I was asking for criminally underplayed great songs, not just things we'd like to hear, or songs that could be played a bit more than they have.

- She Smiled Sweetly - something we'd like to hear, only played once, but not a great song.
- Beast of Burden - a great song, but been played 241 times, their 22nd most played song.
- Lady Jane is a great song, and played only 36 times. I think that's extremely underplayed.
- Little T&A, not a great song (IMHO), but played 103 times, to my surprise.

Any further thoughts?

American English variant, I guess. In context, it means "shocking" or "shameful."

Think.

And almost anything else from Aftermath.

Out of Time fit well in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood." Shame it is not on the soundtrack.

I've gotta to go with Soul Survivor. Go grab your copy of Exile and give it a listen. It's an anthem.

Some stats from [www.setlist.fm].

Memory Motel - 54 times, 3 times since 1999.
If You Can’t Rock Me - 45 times, 0 since 2003.
Lady Jane - 36 times, 1 since 1967.
Sway - 25 times, 4 since 2007.
As Tears Go By - 22 times, 1 since 2006.
Loving Cup - 22 times, 1 since 2006.
No Expectations - 20 times, 2 since 2003.
One Hit (To the Body) 18 times, none since 1989.
I’m Free - 17 times, 2 since 1969.
Tell Me - 10 times, 0 since 1965 (maybe not great, but this forum named after it and would work in concert.)
Heart of Stone - 7 times, 0 since 2002.
Salt of the Earth - 5 times, 1 since 1989.

I started arguing for No Expectations, but I guess I go with Salt of the Earth.

Connection
Rip This Joint
Fingerprint File...replacing the occasional "Out of Control", which always seems so derivative of "Papa Was a Rolling Stone"....albeit derivative in a great way.

Rip this Joint is not underplayed overall, since it’s been played 155 times, but 0 since 2003 is surprising.
Similar to Love in Vain - 161 times, but only 2 since 2003.

Also, Mixed Emotions — 118 times, but only 2 since 1990.

It is underplayed, in my opinion. Just as some songs are overplayed, in my opinion. 0 times since 2003 is unfortunate.....again, in my opinion.

Agree that Rip This Joint has been underplayed for 15 years now. It’s a great song, and a great live song.

Stoned
2120 South Michigan St.

I did think 2120 S. Michigan should have been played at Soldier Field.
While it may not be an all-time great song, it’s less than a mile walk.

If You Can't Rock Me must have been played a lot more time as it appeared on every 1975/76 show. Heart Of Stone has only been played 2 or 3 times, unless it appeared in the 60's, which I doubt.

Setlist says If You Can’t Rock Me was played 88 other time in the 70’s with Get Off My Cloud.
Heart of Stone was played a few times in the 60’s.

I wonder why they didn't play things like Plundered My Soul, Do You Think I Really Care or When You're Gone in 2012/13 to promote the reissues. Or why they played the great Hate To See You Go just twice.

I also thought 2000 light years from home was one of the best songs they pulled out on Steel Wheels tour.

By definition, ‘underplayed’ should mean ‘played at least once but not many times’, not ‘never played before’. As far as I know, there are some never-played-before songs upthread. You may add songs that were played umpteen times in the remote past but never or only a few times if any long since.

My choices:
Tell Me
I’m All Right
Connection
Some Girls
Dance (Pt. 1)
Waiting On A Friend
One Hit (To The Body)
Mixed Emotions
Terrifying
Love Is Strong
Anybody Seen My Baby
