It looks like we're dealing with a similar problem as was the case with the Stones logo in 1970/1971 (a USA version against John Pasche's original). Communication across the Atlantic was still primitive and time consuming, allowing for local "interpretations" at record producing companies (under time pressure). So it looks like HTW fell "victim" to it. The single with "Sympathy" as flip must be a later version, even when it says 1969 (and 1968), but the others appear to be genuin.

If I'm not mistaken, the comma was added by DECCA when the song was released, so the proper title is "Paint It Black."

He sings "the". It's just that it's hard to hear.

It's " 'e hoooonky tonk women" would be a more accurate description phonetically

I have not lost any faith .. It is just that The Stones are touring and we know all their album thoughts are simply not there at this time. All focus is on the tour (as it should be).

However after the tour and a short break I'm certain they will get back to the album to finish it. The album is not squashed .. it is simply set aside while on tour. After a short break the album will be the focus I strongly feel.

"Short break..."...lol...keep the faith Ian!

You can always get round the problem by the time honoured IORR custom of just referring to all songs by their initials (and anyone who doesn't instantly recognise WTWCD, ONNYA or TWFNO is clearly not a True Fan).
