Second show in Pasadena/L.A. would have easily sold just as well as the first.
Considering tours of the not too distant past where they'd play L.A., Anaheim, AND San Diego with all of them selling very well,
and given the fact that the last show in Pasadena sold so well - they easily could have (and should have) added a second show in 2019.

Supposedly tied in with this...

But that would conflict with Louisville date ???
Reliable source in the know (not radio)...

COTA? Seriously...? I'd be surprised. It's not even a major motorsport series?

I'm surprised that on the west coast, just play in San Diego, would you expect them to add any other city, right? With great anxiety from Montevideo- Uruguay, waiting for the official announcement. Come on The Stones!

I think we'll see at least one more west coast date added to the list.
San Diego, Oakland, and Vancouver would make three.. here's hoping!!

Considering Pasadena was perhaps the biggest/fastest selling show, I'd have to think L.A. would be a no brainer.
The new football stadium in inglewood is 85% complete and scheduled to open July 25, but I think Taylor Swift is already scheduled to open it?
Either that or the good old Coliseum where the Stones have played several times.
Start the tour in SoCal, and end the tour in SoCal!!!

smiling smiley

Don't know why LA was not a 2 show city. Kind of an insult to the entertainment capital of the world.

plexi

Of course it makes sense - they already had one NFL team and couldn't sell the games out, now they have 2 teams that can't sell out. The Stones probably prefer to have one sellout, not 2 poorly attended shows in the land of be seen.

The Stones are not an NFL team. Ridiculous to compare a rock n roll band to professional sports teams.

And besides, I was referring to stadiums - not some outdoor festival north of the border way out in the boonies miles away from civilization. winking smiley
But seriously...Burl's Creek was only 70,000? Seems a small number when compared to other outdoor festivals.

Texas Memorial Stadium at UT.

Seems Austin and Dallas are both heavily rumored.
Only a three hour drive between them would make this a good potential trip to the area.
Been to both, but have never seen the Stones in either. Looking forward to seeing if they make the list cool smiley

Austin is such a great town w some of the worlds best bbq and a generally amazing food and music scene. That’d be a great stop for the tour.

Austin in June outdoors? That seems very very hot. I think inside Dallas is better for them and fans.

I saw earlier in the thread that May 17th was the rumored opener date in San Diego.
Anyone have a best guess (or know) on the venue?
Would love Petco Park again as they did for the Zip Code opener, but guessing maybe the SDCCU Stadium?
Seems odd now they did Petco when most of the venues on Zip Code were stadiums.

Petco is a stadium.

plexi

No, Petco Park is a ballpark. There is a difference. Anyway, my bet is that they will play the old SDCCU stadium. It is available in mid-May and will be a lot cheaper to secure than Petco Park.

Signs are pointing to a Rolling Stones show in Pittsburgh this summer

If this outing is more "mid-market" cities ala Zip Code, then I would hope also like Zip Code they would just add cities rather than adding 2nd nights in existing rumored cities. Hoping for the Mpls. and/or Green Bay rumor to hold up.

Denver was the highest attended show in 2019 at over 58k while Miami had the highest average ticket price.

Burl's Creek has a capacity of 70k, but they were lucky if there was 50k there.

That is why they should play outdoor festivals in Europe.

As far as I know, they're one in the same for the most part- both a stadium and a ballpark - Dodger Stadium being a prime example.
The main difference is the shape of the stadium itself.

Padres have home games the week of 5/11-5/17; Petco isn’t available. If 5/17 is the date, SDCCU Stadium fka Qualcomm is the site.

(Works for me since I already have plans to be in SD that weekend to watch Padres vs Cubs...)

And Petco has a Padres home game on May 17. SDCCU open for sure, but has aged ungracefully after 50+ years into dumpy venue status, and slated to be demolished.

Reread my initial reply to you - I didn't state any "facts", it was a presumption and it was based on stadiums only.

And then read the post from Jeter1984:

"Denver was the highest attended show in 2019 at over 58k while Miami had the highest average ticket price.
Burl's Creek has a capacity of 70k, but they were lucky if there was 50k there".

In other words, 70,000 is the capacity of Burls Creek, but didn't sell near that amount of tickets!

Canada may rule, but not as much as you think!

Attendance numbers for Burl's Creek were never officially reported by Billboard or Pollstar.

Promoters "were expecting about 70,000".
