Just one more thing... They might announce Louisville, Vancouver, Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, Oakland or any other city on just a few weeks notice, a month or two, and it will be mostly sold out within a week or so. Don't give me this "they need months to sell out" thing. We are talking about The Rolling Stones, not a secondary slow selling act.

Wow, Vancouver gets mentioned!! Paddy, Treaclefingers, Babyblue, cross your fingers!

Sure I'd take Vancouver & Vegas, could Denver get a spot again? That would keep me in the West, though Buffalo would be nice.

I still think they'll play JF, and the announcement will be shortly before or same day as theirs. Unfortunately there is no set date for their announcement.
Speculation on their fan site is around Jan 20th..

Jazzfest will announce their line-up on Thursday, January 16th.

I think they'll play a different set of cities this time around to avoid duplication of last year. North America is big enough to enable them to do that.

right, I doesn't make sense to play the same cities again (maybe except for NYC)

And it won't include The Rolling Stones. It will most likely include The Who.

they really "need" to do MSG again....but, I dunno their thinking on Indoor Arenas and/or "smaller" venues.

I think AC/DC stopped playing indoors b/c of BJ's hearing, but that might just be me talking out of my arse.

where would they play in Louisville?

I guess UofL must have a Stadium

Churchill Downs would be fun, but I don't think it is laid out well for concerts.

that being said, the KY Derby is great fun...go, if you have the chance.

If you had been reading this thread you would already know that the rumored Louisville concert might be at Cardinal stadium. BV has posted info on another heading on the front page [iorr.org]

The Stones played Churchill Downs in 2006 for the Bigger Bang tour. It worked overall but there were issues for the audience. Many views were from the side as the crowd had to spread down the track to the left and right. I was a little higher up near the press box and suite area and nearly on center with the walk way and B-stage (which also meant I could step inside when the rain was really heavy and still see and hear the show).

I thought the sound was good. The facilities were pretty good with plenty of food and drink available. Parking was a real hassle and there were no fireworks because of the horses on site in the stables and I think many of the louder pyro fx were toned down or not used at all.

If I could choose or advise the band I would caution against a return to track. It was a one off spectacle and the new staging is better suited to traditional sports stadiums.

Really surprised to see Oakland speculation. I don't believe The Coliseum hosts concerts, which leaves the Arena, which the Stones played in 2013, with a much smaller capacity...

The Oakland Coliseum does host concerts - I saw the Stones there during A Bigger Bang Tour in '06 - then known as McAfee Coliseum.

Oakland can use a concert. They lost two sports teams in a year. I'm sure the Coliseum will accommodate.

Oakland does do concerts but it is a pretty awful venue since they enclosed it when the Raiders came back. Last show there was U2 360 tour for me and sound was horrible. Saw The Who, Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead and U2 there in the 80's and early 90's and it was much better. Would prefer SF at Oracle Park aka Pac Bell Park/SBC Park, AT&T Park but not betting on that.

I agree about the sound, especially if the wind is swirling around, however the coliseum is just down the hill about 10-15 minutes away!!!
Come-On Oakland!!!

Thanks for clarification regarding the Coliseum! Yes, I'd prefer Oracle/AT&T Park in SF...

Jazz Fest?!

Any rumors, ideas, thoughts, insights into whether the Stones will try to play Jazzfest?

I see the 2020 line up is coming out on Thursday ...

I had this thought too, Chris, but since they played the make-up date at the Superdome last year, I kind of doubt it. Not without a tour to build around it. The Who have already been announced as part of a short run of shows they are playing to make up for a set of dates that got postponed mid-U.S. tour last year when Roger Daltrey's voice was giving him problems.

No Stones at JazzFest. I already heard who the headliners will be this year and it's not them.

That's what those dates were about - when the tours have started. You already know how long they go.

There was talk previously of a London date being added at the end of the 2020 tour. Is this still in play?

I for one think London was/is just wishful thinking. (Besides, quite expensive to haul the staging overseas for a one-off, no?)

If your question is about the possible dates of the 2020 Tour-start / Tour-end:
