Concerts in Japan finish at 9pm anyway.

Really? Why? Is it required? Can someone shed light on the ease or difficulty of getting tickets to and attending a show in Japan when one does not speak the language. Thanks.

Start at like 7pm in the dot, finish at 9pm.

Gives everyone time to catch the train home.

It’s Mr. Udo organizing most shows at Tokyo Dome. Tickets only available for the japanese market, often through a lottery system. They don’t sell tickets outside of Japan but there are people that can help you buy tickets if you don’t live in Japan:

They could well have a direct overseas sale on a first-come-first-served basis.

I bought tickets for U2 in Tokyo from the UK in an overseas sale, which was entirely in English. It was separate from the Japanese sale. It was through Ticket PIA. [t.pia.jp]

Sometimes they have, mostly don’t as was the case when Stones played the dome last time back in 2014.

Anyone here stay at the Tokyo Dome Hotel for past shows?

Seems the location can't be beat...

It is convenient to take a limousine bus from the airport to Tokyo Dome Hotel.
Even if the show will be at brand new National Stadium, it takes only 30 minutes from the hotel to there by train.winking smiley

We need another hint from Bjornulf!

Seems Australia was a given, but not so sure now.
And what about the great fans in South America?
Or a grand return to North America?!!!

Yes. Hairball. A good old fashioned USA victory lap. 3 shows please

If they tour the US again (and possibly Canada) it will very likely be only in NBA and NHL arenas. I find that highly unlikely though. By the time it would make sense for them to tour the US again they'll be in their 80s if they do what they've recently done, the US every 5 years.

I think it's Oz, North America is now finished, sadly to say. But then never say never. Who knows but I see it very unlikely. There are other places they havent played for a long time.

Some people told me during the NYC shows that the Stones are preparing contracts for shows in Asia in 2020.

That seems to be the balance of people's expectations. Of all their main markets, it's the one that's gone the longest without a tour so it makes sense. It's a market that can support big ticket prices too.

The one thing that is hanging out there and gives me a little hope for a return to the USA is the 60th anniversary. Of course that is assuming all the BIG 4 are all still in good health and still want to play.

The demand for Stones in Japan is huge, ask people who attended the shows back in 2014, several hours queue for the merchandise.

That's one of the big problems, the band wants to play 3 shows in Japan but the promoters are asking for 5 shows at least.

The'll play 15 shows only in 2020, no more than 3 shows in each country, so the schedule is very tight with Japan, Australia, NZ, China, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea and even some shows in Africa lined up too.

Sadly, South America is out of the picture in 2020.

So: 3x Japan, 3x Australia, 1x NZ, 2x China, 1x India, 1x Thailand, 1x Malaysia, 1x Indonesia, 1x Korea and 1x Africa = 15 Shows. Perfect, Tour booked .... winking smiley
