Everybody is ready. They just need to sign the contracts, and that isn't going to happen yet. Still pretty soon.

Not if the tour is in April.

Say WHAT? smiling bouncing smiley

SAIGON. They could do 5 nights at the National Theater. Ain't a stadium in this country that would stand up to the 'vibrations' lol

I was in Saigon a couple of months back I loved it and would love to see the Stones play in Vietnam but is the economy right for it.

I'm sure some American fans on IORR attended 14OF shows in Tokyo...

I'm curious on how you went about getting tickets arranged for the gigs? Through RS.com links, or other methods?

Doin' the due diligence for 2020, tryin' to get all the info I can before possible announcements are made about future shows.

Thanks!!

Japanese ticket sales can literally be a lottery. You submit an application for the tickets you want then you hear back later whether you have them.

I'm seeing U2 in Tokyo in December but I was able to get tickets through a fan club pre-sale so kind of skipped that whole lottery.

You also have to print off your tickets at a 7/11 store.

I did find some good info alluding to the 7-11 stores having ticket outlets while scouting online... ironically, 7-11 is my birthday, so maybe that's a good sign! Hahaha!

I was nervous enough travelling to the UK in 2018 without my tix in hand, which I had paid to have shipped to the US per their guidelines... got one email saying I'd have to pick up a set at will call, but no word for the other gig. The shipping charges were never refunded to my card, but both sets were waiting upon arrival in Coventry and Manchester.

Any scalpers outside the shows in Tokyo? Seems like a routine the folks over there would frown on...

Appreciate the info, and any more people have to share.

I think there will be a bunch of hints about a new album but no new album.

They'll release another live album and perhaps another vault release.

Probably another 10 or so pages on here about speculation.

Speculation is my prediction.

Maybe they are not sure which direction they want to go.

Fingers crossed that the Rolling Stones take me on my next adventure around the globe this coming spring. Not that I ever needed an excuse to visit Japan but a few Stones shows in Tokyo would certainly light the fire.

I have never been to Japan but would definitely consider going for vacation/to see the Stones. Is it easy to buy concert tickets from the U.S. and figure out logistics etc?

Mick seems to like saying things like "SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!", which is even on STILL LIFE, of which was not true, since no one that saw them in 1981 living in the US saw them in 1982 living in the US because that was next year and the Stones did not tour the US that year.

Nothing has changed.

getting tickets might be the easier part -> don't expect to meet too many people in Japan who speak english

Any solid info on where they are going next? BV suggested Asia/Australia, where did this idea come from originally?

Yes next year ended up being eight years latter in 1989.

well, I guess there's one thing that has defintely changed: More people that 20 or 30 years ago travel to other countries and sometimes continents to see their favorite bands. (They are still a very small minority amongst concert goes but this minority has surely grown over the last decades).
I remember that some 20 years ago people were trying to convince me that they are real fans by telling me they traveled from Hannover to Hamburg (some 160 km) to visit a concert. Just having returned from a trip to see a couple of Bob Dylan shows in California I just smiled…

Tokyo will be next.
Somebody mentioned Korea, that would be interesting!I was recently in Seoul at a music festival full of young 20 somethings, and I mentioned the Stones and nobody had heard of them! They did like Start me up when they googled it on their high tech phones. So there’s hope!
But Tokyo first...

True, people from wherever flew in for the New Orleans show. But it's just Mick talking to the city where they're playing, which is about 78% bullshit. It did come true with the BRIDGES tour and, ha ha ha ha ha, the NO SECURITY tour.
