Photos on Phones

I'm sure this has been covered before but any simple tricks for photos of the band on a phone when you're up close?

90% of my attempts the guys bleed into bright white when I aim the phone their way.

Using an iPhone 8

That's a thing with phones if you shoot automatic. I don't have an iPhone but I know there is an option to shoot on manual. And this way the photos will be good.

Thx, but that's a lotta reading.. Just want to know why mine go blindingly white every time and others don't.. Actually that's not entirely true, the photo I accidentally took of my shoes in the men's room came out perfect
