I tried them in Memphis as a means to get between tourist destinations to fit more into the day without needing to hail a taxi. I found it was an effective and fun way of navigating the city, but I agree they are needing regulation as I saw many speeding across roads ignoring the traffic rules, and I almost came off myself where the road surface wasn't completely flat. They have the possibility of being either a menace or a great way to travel medium distances that would be slow going walking.

What can those things accomplish that bicycles don't?

I left Denver for the small city of Golden yesterday, it is 20 minutes drive or one hour by bus 16 from downtown Denver. The world's largest single site brewery Coors is in Golden. I wanted to do the brewery tour. Also, Golden is scooter free, so I stayed there for the rest of the day. What a great old style city!

This crap is on IORR WHY ?

1. This is an OFF TOPIC post

2. It is quite ON TOPIC anyway, as fans are arriving into scooter crazy Denver these days

3. If the IORR editor is run over by a scooter here in Denver, his might be the end of IORR

4. Do you need more reasons, or may be not enough coffee today?

Your self-ironic point 3 made me laugh. Keep on the good spirit... Also really enjoyed your last post on Tour blog Stoneslife.org...

Personally I would say that it is safer to have sex on the sidewalk, or drink alcohol from an open container in the public, than riding, or being passed close by, electric scooters. I am just back to my room from a quick walk for coffee here in downtown Denver, and I was passed by a swarm of 6-8 scooter drivers, tourists crossing on red lignts.

I assume you won't be buying the limited edition Rolling Stones one then BV :-)

Someone said it cost $5,000 or so, that would be quite a few pit tickets for me...

Only $4,500 BV and limited to 15

Unhappy Parisians have a new fashion to throw electric scooters in the Seine as a way to demonstrate against the invasion of scooters, while authorities try to clean the river of 50 years of pollution
