Stage clothes question

Maybe this is a dumb question, in which case, forgive me...

I assume that someone designs (or at least chooses) the Stones clothes for each tour. Who is that person? Do the individual members have much say in what they wear?

There is a great shot on (I think) the NJ show thread of Mick and Keith singing together, both wearing different tones of purple silken shirt.

I haven't seen the stage outfits discussed much on here.

Also, as a related side point, when did the ditch the trench coats? I always thought that was a dreadful look.

On this tour I notice them wearing lots of bright colors as well as layers (bright blue shirt over bright yellow t-shirt, for example. A bit like the cover of 'Dirty Work.'
Mick and Charlie behind this?

Yes, that's true - a lot like the cover of DW, which (despite the contents inside) I always rather liked.

(But lets not turn this into another DW thread!)

Ronnie designs his own shirts. Lwren Scott used to design the jackets for Mick and he still wears some of them but he's got new stuff that's not so bling. Keith used to get paid for wearing Yves Saint-Laurent jackets but he's not been wearing them lately, that deal probably expired

Charlie has a "tour jacket" to which he adds patches of the tours he did. He also has a habit of dressing up in the flag-colours of the gig but that doesn't make much sense on a US tour.

Interesting, thanks Nikkei. They do seem to look pretty well coordinated, so there must be someone overseeing their overall 'look'.

I wish they would take more (more than none) off-stage photos of the four of them.

And it is interesting though that in '72 when they were obviously just running at full speed, that they still ended up looking united in flair.
Is it in the 4Flicks doc where there are those scenes of them getting ready to go on, and Jagger gets all ruffled up over Charlie wearing a certain color.
