Keith's new look w/dyed hair was a bit unsettling at first, but you get used to it after awhile. Thought he looked way better with the natural grey hair (w/bandana or not),
and wondering what pushed him to go with the new "smoked/whiskey/tobacco/red/brown" dye job? Could be worse I suppose..."jet black" would look a bit freaky these days.

I never could understand why people who weren’t even at the show take the time to complain about it.
More likely they raised his salary after 25 boring years.

A "revival band" is performing at a casino in Las Vegas, or any other stage of 1,000 some fans age 50+, same age as themselves, when they first saw this old band.
The Rolling Stones perform if front of young fans age 15 and 19, fans who are not allowed to buy beer at the stadiums, because the alcohol age is 21 in USA, and they are not with their parents.
I have seen more new fans this year and the few years before this, also in USA, than what I saw years ago. The Rolling Stones are getting new and younger generations, which you NEVER see with socalled revival bands.

They have been on tour the last many years with the same concept, so there is no revival - just a continuation of the same concept. Just like Macca touring with the same songs as he has done the last many years. Eagles the same etc. No revival
Greatest hits band, revival band, live band...i don't see much difference: the new material is missing!
Lonesome & Blue, released two years ago, is a triumph from start to finish. Consisting of fantastic covers, similar to England's Newest Hitmakers or The Beatles Second Album, I think it's among their best. Went to no. 1 in most countries around the world. If you have not heard it, I recommend it highly.

unfortunately drbryant this is a confirmation: since it came out only 3 songs from it were performed, never the whole three in the same gig, during the previous leg two numbers were at least played regularly, now we have passed from one to 0.
no song from the latest album of original material has been played in ages...

I was quite the opposite. This memory is may be the best one from the entire show. First minute of "Street Fighting Man". Keith walks up to start the song. Mick is soon after, pass by Keith, who is on my side i.e. Pit 2 = Keith side. Mick start singing, on his i.e. Ronnie side. Then after half a minute or so Mick is backing up, taking a look at Keith, like you would take a look at your best friend, a loving friendly look, you know a look, like an image, can say more than 1,000 words. It was the look of friendship and trust. Then they played on. There was plenty of space for both up there.

Okey, some positive notes then:
- I think we will see 4-5 changes in the second NJ gig. 2 new B-stage songs. A new vote song. Maybe a SFM and JJ Flash interchange and a new #2 song.
- The sound: Have they ever had a better sound system? Both guitars, bass and drums are very clear and distinctive. Even from a periscope position in the nosebleeds!
Lightyears from the muffled sound of the 94/95 tour. No filter, indeed.
- Darryl's bass doesn't irritate me the way it used to. Seems like he's more integrated with the band now. After 25 years of practicing.
- Sasha is an improvement in the back up singing department.

There is an undeniable power when they appear on the stage. It has a supernatural quality about it. They are stars - they know how to be stars - they've been rock gods for 50 years plus. One reviewer wrote - it's not about reliving past greatness - this IS greatness. This is no victory lap tour.

It's Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie playing their own songs. Doesn't matter if these are 40 or 50 years old, it's still their own songs. If a band still plays their own songs it surley can't be no revival bandQuote

That's not an argument supporting the "revival" theory, Stoneage. That's simply what happens with ALL famous acts, which were "born" many decades ago. Unless you think that the best known songs of Dylan, Who, Macca, N. Young, Patti Smith and others are coming from 90s or 00s... Also think U2, a much newer band: Their best known songs are from 80s. Hardly 90s, considering "One" as one from them...

agree with stoneage and hairball: mick and keith, maybe for different reasons, have long ago turned the stones into a nostalgia act or revival: no new albums in ages, conservative setlists, conservative and straight away nostalgic approach to music for keith (which he transufused in a great album 4 years ago)
truth is that they are a very special one, unique. the core band approaching their eighties and still rolling pretty good in front of massive audiences with many generations and not only survived granpas.
nostalgia can be sweet and sounding good. you can accept that and still have a lot of fun with them or you can delude yourself asking them to be innovative, on the edge, daring. some "old" acts try to be that. neil young comes to mind, but he goes on tour with POTR
