If New Orleans shows a sell out it's a goddamn lie.

I can already tell you it's a lie because there's no way Gillette was filled to capacity. I don't know how they break down tickets sold vs. attendance, but there were empty seats.

Not a TON...it was a good crowd but the spaces were certainly noticeable.

Every tour more and more fans learn that "sell-out" doesn't mean every seat sold.

Been this way for quite some time. Sell outs are calculated on percentage of capacity. Not certain, but believe it's 85-90% minimum. There are no "lies" goddamn or otherwise. When they count a ticket as sold, they tax everyone on the gross sale accordingly cool smiley

If some of those empty seats are from tickets sat unsold on viagogo etc. then that's good news IMO.

39000 for FedEx Field is a sellout? Place holds 82000 for football. Was the stage set up around midfield?

For the Superdome the stage was at the 50 yard line. Maybe they set it up on different parts of the field based on early ticket sales.

So then the attendance for NOLA would be probably around 39000 too, if that? Didn't the Stones have the record for largest indoor attendance from their 78 show there, over 80k?

The Stones had 80,000 in 78 and 87,500 in 81. I was fortunate enough to be at both shows. I was also at New Orleans on this tour - it filled up quite nicely - a sell out? No - but it was a good crowd.

Same reason as why McDonalds do not replace their burgers with salads, cabbage and carrots. They sell the same burgers they have sold every year, because that is what people want.

Nice to see all shows "sold out" although 39000 at Fed Ex being sold out? A stadium that holds 82000 for football. Same as Superdome and Rosebowl figures. They've drawn a lot more at these venues in previous tours.

In addition: The attendance of "No Filter" Tour (2017 - present) is almost 2.3 million (2,290,871). Which means an average 50,908 par show. Since 2012 the Stones have played in front of 5.9 million people.

"No Filter" is already #8 on the list of highest grossing concert tours of all time, with $416,000,000. Imagine the number (and tour's position on the particular list), if the tour will be extended in 2020, etc...

I also read that Stones with wrapping up the No Filter Tour will become the decades highest grossing artist ahead of Ed Sheeran, making them nr. 1 in the 80s, 90s, 2nd in the 00's (U2 nr 1) and in 2010s.

The superdome show is The highest grossing concert at the stadium to date.

I didn't count the yardage but it looked to me like the stage was at about the 50 yard line in the Superdome, so 35,000 some tickets were allotted for the show. The Supe holds around 73000 for Saints games, so that makes sense with the Stones, which I know was over 35000 because of the floor but not my a lot.

The Superdome has never had 82000 for a football game.

Foxboro Stadium filled up very late, close to show time. I was watching all the empty seats during Gary Clark's set ( too bad because he was really GOOD!), and I think it was near capacity but not in the nose-bleeds...but I can see why! Where was your seat KEEFRIFF?

Re: Boxscores No Filter US Tour 2019

ive no real interest in who has the highest or near highest grossing tour.

the figures can be manipulated to extend tours for several years and count it as part of the same tour, theoretically a band can then claim to have had only one tour, that lasted from when they formed till today, who actually sets the rules of when one tour starts to another one starts.

also grossing figures never take inflation into consideration.obviously a later tour should outdo a previous tour if capacity and ticket prices are similar,

i suspect that what the stones do, u2 will outdo all their grossing tour figures as they have about 18 years more youth on their side to catch up, and overtake after the stones are no longer, these figures will mean nothing cos inflation will soon mean that in theory, some time in the future buying a packet of crisps will outdo the current figures for the total gross earnings from the stones recent tour.

tour figure records mean nothing without considering real figures and taking inflation into account.

Can anybody in this world tell me how it is possible that only 57.000 people were at the Rose Bowl while it has a capacity of 92.000?

For example the Olympic Stadium in Berlin had 68.000 people at the concert with a capacity of 74.000 people. It was the same setting (pit-seats-standing) and the capacity in German Stadiums ist usually high because for Football they have a lot of Standing Tickets which will be Changed to seats for concerts

You have to factor in seats behind the stage not being used. U2 played to 97,000 at the Rose Bowl in 2009. They returned there in 2017 and played 2 sold out shows, both at roughly 60,000. The difference is that in 2009 the 369 tour played to the entire stadium, whereas in 2017 they did an endstage show, which is the norm.

U2 also played to about 35,000 at the Superdome. Guns n Roses did 32,000. They have ways of making shows look fuller than they are.
