My guess, band member health permitting, based on past patterns is :

2020 : Far East/Australia/New Zealand
2021 : South America
2022 : UK & Europe for their 60th anniversary and swansong. Final show on July 12th in London.

Would be nice to see them back in Australia next year. If they plan on an Australian summer tour in March (like last time was originally scheduled) we should see something official by November.

You're not far from the truth actually, a reasonable schedule, health permitting:

Feb-March 2020: Far East/Australia
Oct-Dec 2020: Promotion for the new album (??)
Nov-Dec 2020 or Feb-March 2021: South America
Second half of 2021 (July-November): US dates
2022: Europe

But any long term plan (6+ months) is science ficcion with band members at age of 78-72.

In my opinion they'll stop in 2023...60 years from Charlie time, so it could be Feb-March 2021 South America, 2022 US dates and 2023 Europe

I went to the Macau show. We built a China trip around it. Was certainly one of the stranger shows. Spent a couple nights in Hong Kong before taking a hectic ferry to the island of Macau. It was in a HUGE Casino (the Venetian). I remember just walking around this endless casino saying 'I know there's an arena in here somewhere where the Rolling Stones are playing. LOL.

A fair comment...and you may be right.

But everybody is different. At 60 and with my health I would probably now struggle to do what Charlie does for two hours.

My granddad on the other hand lived into his late 90s and at 85 was trotting about, digging or chopping sticks for hours on end ...a couple of hours drumming would have been a doddle.

The only certainty now is the uncertainty .

I'm just enjoying the band whist we still have them.

I hope they come. My two pals in Oz haven't heard any rumors. I wonder at Charlie's age will he continue? Will have to see.

Yes I think that's very likely. Before which they'll undoubtably want to play parts of the new album live. Then after?
I'm sure it's been discussed ad-nauseum but I hope the new LP has some relevance. By that I mean it will be about where they are now as men in their 70s. Oh well that's probably a subject for another thread.

Age, of course, at 70-80 years old, IS a problem. Fit, WELL LOOKING people, simply DO die in this age group. Yes, they look terrific, they are obviously well, given ONLY Mick was the member to have been picked up as medically unfit to tour earlier this year. But they ARE of an age when AGE IS a problem. And I do NOT wish this (passing on, or getting so Ill as to HAVE to give it up) on any of them. But they ARE... old.

As am I.

So get on with new music guys. Please. Whilst you can.

Stones' swan song is a really fascinating discussion, but at the same time it's pretty simple. They won't stop until they wouldn't be able to pull it off whether they are 70, 80 or 90 years old. But the nature is that at 80's you are getting really old. Chuck Berry played til 88 and wasn't in a great condition for a few last years, Franki Valli is 85 how and acts similar to Chuck, so, I think 85 is the most optimistic projection for Jagger to be in a good form. Suppose, 81-82 is more realistic.

For sure, if they'll keep a good shape in years to come, there will be more tours in future. No FIlter will probably end with SA and Asia & Pacific legs. Then they'll release a new album and engage a promotional tour which could be a farewell as well. And there's no chance they'll skip 60th anniversary at this scenario. So, similar to 2012, I bet that during 2022-2025 we will get a final tour, promoting a final album. Also, I don't see them stopping even after that. It'll be like Ozzy said - occasional shows here and there until the very end.

All in all, I'm sure we'll see them in London at 2022/2023 for anniversary show if everything will be okay. After that - more tricky.

I second that. I thought Ronnie looked a bit unhealthy within the last couple of years, but... Keith looks (of course) older, but much healtier than in the 00's. Mick and Charlie look almost the same since 20 years ago. But we don't know what may happen.

I have a feeling they will do another US leg next summer and play the secondary cities similar to what they did on the ZIP code tour in 2015. Then do Asia/Australia/New Zealand and/or South America/Mexico before the tour ends.

Next year is Far East/Australia time, maybe South Africa too,then India,A couple of China show, maybe 3 Tokyo gigs, Singapore and/or Hong Kong or Bangcock and 4-5 gigs in Australia and New Zealand...The last time was 5 years ago
Then in 2021 South America and Mexico and maybe in the fall another Us/Canadian leg with Europe/UK in 2022 or South America in 2021, Us/Canadian show in 2022 and Europe in 2023...This is it!

Maybe South America in 2020 or Europe in 2022 and Tokyo or South Africa. Then they could also return to the US and play where they did not play and a couple of shows where they did. Of course they should not forget about the UK in 2021 or 2020 and MSG which is their true home afterall. Down Under is surely on their list before they finish it all up in London, not to forget about Bangcock

I tend to agree...although it certainly seems they want to keep the touring machine running on a limited annual basis in an effort make it to their 60th anniversary. It's SO close, yet so far away.

I'm sure Charlie is good-naturedly grumpy about the prospect of touring every year until 2022 to keep the rust off, but the other three are probably enthusiastic, health willing.

The only two things that will stop them are health issues or Charlie forcing a retirement.

To wax philosophical, does any of it really matter? Just about every person that posts here has seen them in the last five or six years. I am not going to skip a beat if Charlie calls it quits.

And of course a lot of us are older. I wince because I have a distinct memory of seeing Sticky Fingers in the record stores and not knowing who they were, the summer of 1971. And now 48 years have passed. I remember the first portable electronic calculators coming out in 1971 and I have witnessed the entire sweep of the microcomputer industry.

I watched a YouTube clip and saw that Peggy Lipton just passed away this year. So I went to the Internet Movie Database and looked up the Mod Squad. I can remember when saying, "It's a gas" was a "now" hippie expression.

And I still get a rush listening to She's a Rainbow.

Is this the true last of the Rolling Stones? Perhaps not, but either way I have made my peace. How can you imagine a world without the Rolling Stones? You don't have to because there is never going to be a world without the Rolling Stones.
