heres an idea, maybe ronnie could write the album and the rest of the band record and make it a stones album.

ronnie gives up his rights to songwriting credits and jagger/richards gets the credit.

maybe ronnie and the rest of the band could have a race to see which album is ready first.

ronnie finishes in 2019 and the stones finishing around 2032,

or maybe ronnie could teach jagger and richards as how to find a recording studio and enter through the door.

Strange post

I wonder what kind of lyrics at age 72 Ronnie conjures up. Hopefully some mature lyrics about his life experiences.

Great news ! I'm happy, Ronnie is a great and deserves, before joining the RS, Ronnie signed and put his guitar on Faces and Rod Steward's masterpieces. He joined the Stones that was already Ronnie Wood!

I believe Ron's solo records are good, very good actually. I particularly love his first one and Slide on This. There is a progression in the production with each new record getting better. With the help of Bernard Ronnie reached the top with "Slide.."

That would make a perfect album title: booze & fags free

Or maybe even better for some of us: free booze and fags

Let it rock!

Don't know how he ever managed it .. Since he recorded an album my guess is he had basically no erm ... "family time" .. over the last year or so .. Poor Ronnie sad smiley

His family probably hasn't even saw or spoke to him in a few years with the album (and tour) ... and everything .. ....

Let's play..
Whenever one of them comes out with new music (or art, or guests on an album, or pretty much anything artistic that isn't a new RS album) instead of celebrating it or being excited about it, use it as a reason to bash the band for not releasing a new album. The new album thread is only eleventy million pages long so, any chance we get we should jump on it!! This game never gets old.

Ian has jumped quickly into the lead on this one, but there's a couple nipping at his heels winking smiley
Good Luck everybody!! May the best whiner win!!

Will be interesting to see if Ronnie does some gigs to coincide with the record release date.
Would be good PR. This assumes he and the record label want some healthy sales...or is Ronnie just doing it for fun?

Ronnie has probably worked on the songs for this album since he released I Feel Like Playing in 2010. It's not like this album is something he quickly threw together this year. Excited for this! thumbs up

Oh, so it's actually a compilation. Well, that changes things. I'll return the party favors now.

That's a fair question.....I myself rarely listen to albums in their entirety any longer, unless I am performing a task such as spring cleaning. So I would have to guess it's been at least 10 years since I threw on "Gimmy some neck".

I really enjoy the "What are you listing to right now" thread here on IORR. I've been turned to so much music I would have otherwise never had heard. So for that I am grateful.

With that said....I am really looking forward to Ronnie's new album!

I listen to Ronnie regularly. Songs like "Show me" ,"I can feel the fire" and " I gotta see" are on my 6 month rotation.

Live album boys. Not a studio release. Organic and spontaneous.

I often listen to Ronnie Wood's albums, Ronnie when he does an albun he does it for fun he cares little about sales, he doesn't need them.
I often listen to Slide on Live: Plugged in and Standing, I Feel Like Playing, Slide on This, Gimme Some Neck and I've Got My Own Album to Do are my favorite albums, I often listen to Live at the Ritz with Bo Diddley.
I listen to a lot of music often snubbed by the general public, I listen to what I like regardless of commercial success, which for me is just shit.
