Why do they have seating and not a GA standing?
There is seating in the front, behind the pit, because some people need to sit, and also it is easier to charge a higher price for the ticket then, you don't have to fight for your position. Then there is GA in the back, a cheaper ticket. It is also a security issue, re the Pearl Jam Roskilde and The Who Cincinnati disasters.

Thank you for answering! Is there any reason seating is more common in the US while the European concerts usually have GA?
In America theatres were used as concerts venues for rock bands long before bands were playing in arenas/stadiums so having seats at a concerts (even though the people are standing) has a long history. In Europe where most theatres are state-owned rock bands never had much changes to play concerts there and therefore concerts were rather held in clubs with general admission. Somehow it evolved from there. GA was also tried at big events in America but since that one concert by the Who where some people died because other people where pushing most big evens are seated. In recent years seated stadium concerts got more and more common in Europe (e.g. the German concerts during the No Filter tour)Quote
