Good information about Brian from a source with balanced views would be great.

The problem with most BJ focussed resources is that they follow the "Brian was lovely and the rest of the Stones were horrible" template.

The Rolling Stones - If You Let Me - featuring Brian Jones playing autoharp.

Recorded at RCA Studios in August 1966.

Line up:
Brian Jones - autoharp
Mick Jagger - vocals
Keith Richards - acoustic guitar
Bill Wyman - bass guitar
Charlie Watts - drums
Unverified (probably Jack Nitzsche) - electric piano

I've always really liked this one. I'm unsure why they thought it not ready for Aftermath. It's preferable to a few of that LP's lesser-tracks.

*I've just re-read the thread: it's a Between the Buttons, outtake. I prefer Between the Buttons to Aftermath. I'm not sure what they could've omitted.

Not really music, but does the name "Stuart" say something to you in connection with Brian?

Thank god it's not about him being 'murdered'. Thank god we had The Rolling Stones 1965, and On the Air so we could hear some new Brian recordings. Yet, it shows how quickly he declined on guitar. His feel was unparalleled, especially on slide, and he wasted those precious talents.

Early days, but my Brian Jones book focusing on the music side of things is slowly coming together.

Gered Mankowitz has agreed to licence this wonderful photo for the cover.

This is excellent news Phil. Really looking forward to reading this. Good luck with the project.

A 'Keith Richards Resource' in which you make reference to Brian's contributions would be more logical but...good job.

I'll be reading to see if it's really different from 'Rolling Stones All The Songs'.

Listening to The Rolling Stones and gradually learning that a lot of the bits I liked were played by him.

That makes sense. thumbs up
