WHOAA!!! And England ties it up on a run away!

Another great exciting match by the women! WOW!

And now disallowed... it looked good to me... but... well it was close.
Still England 1-2 US

I am very impressed with women's world cup play. They are intense! These are exciting matches!

Great job US women headed to the finals again, WOW!

I heard the women's US team pushing for equal pay to the men... and I think F that...
F giving them equal pay as the men... PAY THEM MORE!!!
The US women's world cup team have had infinitely more success than the US men world cup teams.

I would happily donate to a fund to pay these women more. They are awesome!

Absolutely cracking game of football. The better team definitely won but England gave it everything they had and with luck could and should have forced extra time. I even cheered them on snd I’m a Scot grinning smiley Unlucky disallowed goal by the excellent Ellen White and a very poor penalty. Why such a short run up? The 2 sets of players were absolutely knackered at the end with some poor passes and poorly timed tackles, one of which earned a red card.

A great advert for women’s football and I fully expect the game to grow in popularity here in the U.K. Even Scotland qualified!

Not really a sports fan, but the women's world cup has captured me. I watch(ed) in amazement at them running back and forth, feeling myself get winded and I ain't even playing. It's almost zen to watch them maneuver and move the ball around to try and position it for a goal shot. I'll be watching Sweden and the Netherlands tomorrow. Sunday's already blocked off on the calendar for the final.

I was thinking the same about the penalty, Grzegorz. If you are going to shoot a bad penalty at least do it with force. That way it might go in anyway. Her short run-up didn't bode well.
It wasn't nerves, just a bad penalty. And I think the coach carries some responsibility here too. She obviously wasn't up for it.

It was strangely slow and casual too. It was far too slow and deliberate and you just knew she wasn’t going to score. Why not let the lass who won the penalty in the 1st place take it? She was brimming with confidence all night, scoring an excellent goal and having another unluckily disallowed.

It is not about who has more success. It is about who brings in more money and who signed what contract.

Very nice match today with a trio of beautiful goals. A shame on the offsides call negating the English goal, but them's the rules. Glad the ref sent off Bright. Alex Morgan has been getting beat up this whole tournament.

Tomorrow, I am pulling for the Swedes. They sat 7 starters in their group play finale 2-0 loss to the U.S. to avoid the French in the Quarterfinals. At full-strength they are capable of playing the U.S. straight up. They just have to beat the Dutch first.

Fine. Stay off the thread then. It happens to be the World's most popular sport though that doesn't mean everyone has to like it.

The best team won in the end, although both teams played their heart out to the very end of the game.
Very even at times but the penalty for England was a very bad one and I guess the player who took it realises that now.
Congratulations to the USA team and I will be watching the game tonight between Netherlands v Sweden and hoping it will be as entertaining to watch as England v USA.
I think it will be Netherlands through to the Final but I could be completely wrong.

What time will the game be on tonight (NY time) when Sweden beats the Netherlands?

Jonathon Pearce is squirm inducing. I just watch the pictures. He used to do a few Scottish League Cup games on Channel 5 and wasn't much better. Far too partisan and unobjective when England play and doesn't half warble some b0ll0x.

It won’t because NL will win. That game starts at 3 pm.

Predicting or assuming the result in any kind of sporting contest is not clever unless 1 side is evidently much stronger than the other, which certainly isn't the case tonight. I think the teams are well matched and it will be a real contest. The match kicks off at 9pm Local Time (Central European Summer Time) so everyone can work out what it is for them from there.
