Motley Crue are going to kick some serious butt.
You gotta buy the Red White and Crue album- Deluxe sound and vision - before attending these supercool events. Lots of showstopper are included, If you die tomorrow, Piece of the action, Street Fighting Man, I could go on for @#$%&' ever with this list of immediate hits. Seattle and Portland will never be the same after these Bigger Bangs that we're going to experience real soon. I hope Tommy Lee will be filming them chicks on stage again. This ain't no clowns from Chippendales or Back Street Boys, what we've got here are real men with tattoos, winning personalities, huge levels of raw energy who know what them ladies want and long for. Only two words are required to describe Motley Crue - Class act.
Girls, Girls, Girls.

I have to admit, the Crue is sure better than Molley Hatchet. '81 Syracuse.

Which concert did you see Motley Crue this tour ??

Or have you not yet seen the Red White and Crue Tour ??

Would you advise people to value the opinion of someone who hasn't experienced what they're talking about ?

I must admit, I find Motley Crue the saddest act in the world. This is Spinal Tap taken seriously.

There might be different opinions about how good the Motley Crue are. However, admit that it´s the best opening act so far (doesn´t say so much!). By the way what else can Seattle offer for Stones fans the coming weekend (besides looking at the Experience museum)? It will be my first visit ever to Seattle.

To those of you going, I hope you have nothing but a good time! I have to say that Motley Crue was one of the few 80's heavy metal hair bands that I could actually stand. I was alright with Ratt as well but I couldn't stand Warrant or Poison. I kinda think that it would be cool if the Stones got Iron Maiden to open for them sometime in the future. Maiden is another cool rockin' band AND they're English, just like our boys!smiling smiley

so lets get this right. you, are suggesting that Motley Crue circa 2005 are better than the Crue of their heyday ? the same heyday that probably makes up 99% of their current setlist

is that correct ?

of course i haven't seen their new tour, i'm not that sad. i've also succesfully managed to avoid Warrant, Ratt, Dokken, Bulletboys, Kix, LA Guns and any other god awful hair metal reunions that are currently touring to pay for the memebers hairplugs and liposuction

i saw them all in the day. when they were supposed to be good you see. did you ?

all i can say in conclusion is. i feel for you luv

it must be a yank thang

maybe Journey or Styx could reform and support the lads at MSG in Jan

Okay, so you haven't seen the Crue, that's all I was asking.... when you say "they suck donkey dick", you aren't speaking from personally attending any of their shows... just from some dark place in your personal "hate list"...

As for whether the Crue can be better than their "heyday"... well, the heyday of the Stones per this board was from 1969 to 1973... yet I think they deliver a tremendous concert today...

You shouldn't be so surprised that the Crue does also...

Well, I went to see the Crue, when they played Brum a few months ago, and I can tell you, although it wasn't as good as a Stones show, everyone seemed to have a hell of a time, the crowd were a lot more lively than many Stones shows I've seen.

Of course they are from a different generation, and we didn't have to sell our kidney's to get tickets, but they are a rock band, like 'em or not. I'd rahter see a rock band support the Stones than most of the shit they have supporting them these days.

You ought to keep in mind that Mick J, Keith R and Michael C are calling the shots. Obviously at least one of these fine gentlemen must think that Motley Crue is an act worthy enough of opening for the Stones. It's like with Chuckie, if they didn't approve of his contributions they'd fire him asap. Think about that for a minute. Maybe Mick J simply can't get enough of the kick-ass rockers brought to you by Tommy Lee and the rest of the Crue. Girls, Girls, Girls!!!!!!

Nice post, Tonk...

As you can see, virtually everyone who actually has SEEN the Crue thinks they're a pretty awesome live band, even if they're not a major fan of their music.

More objective reviews of the Crue can be found here:

the only reason they're playing is to put a few bums on seats. ditto Metallica etc

don't kid yourself that anyone in the band gives a flying @#$%& about them rank. because you know it aint true. the Stones like to have current 'hot' acts supporting em at times cos it makes them look good (*) and puts a few extra bums on seats. the question is, how on earth have the Crue become hot in 2005 ? they couldn't fill a bucket in the old days yet now they're playing arenas. mind you. so are G4. i guess that says it all

if Keef's ever heard of them i'd be surprised

god i hope someone takes a bag of rocks with them. mind you, Vince would only try and eat em or Tommy could use em to beat a woman with i guess

* = the exception being AC/DC. whilst undoubtably being brought in to sell tickets, at least Keef is actually a fan himself. and rightly so of course

I don't mean to pick on you, Bayou. But this struck me as kind of funny. Do you really think that "more objective" reviews of Motley Crue would be found on a site called www.motley.com? I'm sure you will find reviews that you, as a fan, will agree with, but probably not "objective" on their fan site!

And aren't reviews generally "subjective" in nature anyway?

I am not attacking you, just curious.

Well they're objective in the sense that the posters have actually ATTENDED a show as opposed to expressing their opinions about a band they've never seen.

As far as I can tell, only 2 posters on this thread have actually seen the Crue... and both were positive reviews.

The only negative postings have been from people who haven't seen them live...

Sure the motley board has alot of fans, but like the Stones board, there are plenty of critical posts.

why would somebody go to a show when they dont like the music to begin with?

Motley Crue with the STONES? Thanks for the warning!

I saw them in March at the Forum. Not a great band by a long shot, but I love their first album and its still a helluva fun show. I really wish I could make it up there but opted to save myself $800+ and go see Judas Priest/Anthrax locally instead.

And to answer the question why this tour was a success? Mostly due to Nikki Sixx's brilliant marketing. Another tour has been considered for a few years but this one was announced and went on sale when NO other major rock acts were going out. Also the low guarantee ($150,000 for 5000 tix sold) made it attractive to promotors for the initial run of dates.

I was just happy to hear On With The Show, Too Fast For Love and Primal Scream.

Bornonthe ...

you say only two people here have seen them, and both were positve

as i've said numerous times before. i've seen em 4-5 times in their heyday. and whilst it was visually a good novelty type r'n'r show (ala Kiss) musically it was crap

its no good having a big show if the music's rank in my humble opinion. music first, show second. otherwise why not just go to the circus ?

and lets face it. Crue haven't made ONE single song that's stood the test of time. strip away the make up and flashbombs and all you're left with is a damp flacid lump of nothing

again. much the same as Kiss
