Truman Capote certainly wasn't intimidated by the Stones' artistic stature. On the contrary; he was clearly offended that no one on the tour seemed to recognise HIS artistic stature. He called Mick 'as sexy as a pissing toad,' whatever that means. Keith called him 'Truby....you old queen,' and squirted ketchup on his hotel room door, an homage to Truman's celebrated book In Cold Blood.

I remember all this from one of the books about the tour and the long article in Rolling Stone. Good times!
