OT: Mahoney’s Last Stand - OST

Just acquired this on used vinyl - copy is very good quality. Brings me back to the first days that I heard the Faces (“Long Player.”) Side 1 - Track 6 “Title One” has a few shades of “Pretty Beat Up” in it. Bobby Keys and Jim Price on brass on that track. I should have got this years ago. Really like this album. Highly recommend.

Agreed. And it has a lovely Ronnie Lane ballad in Just For A Moment, one of his best

The film, however, is total pants

And "Mahoney's" invariably carries you over to "Rough Mix" by Lane and Townshend. Also very good, but maybe not as unified in vision as "MaHONEY".

What is the movie even about?

No idea I’m afraid. I looked this up below from Letterboxd:

“In this rare and virtually unseen film we follow the exploits of Leroy Mahoney (Alexis Kanner) as he settles in the country leaving behind a wayward life to work his land. With plot only provided as subtext, the simple story is a dramatization of a man and his resolve to live a quite honest life farming. Mahoney’s Last Stand has only appeared on Canadian TV and in particular remains neglected, forgotten even, with no release even on VHS.”

Looks like the full movie can be viewed on YouTube.
