Mick has still a great voice (about 80% of once used to be, that´s a lot for a 76years old guy). His singing at the Fonda is great. Look how poor McCartney sounds or even more lamentably Roger Daltrey and be glad that Mick´s voice is in the shape it is in. He sounds like a man in his 30s. Marvelous, wonderful.
At the age of Mick Sinatra had practically no voice at all!
Mick does a wonderful job for nearly two hours and it´s not at all "just talking the songs".

I disagree with just about all of that, sorry HMS, but Tom Jones is older and sounded incredible a few weeks ago, Roger is singing well too, although Mick was good at the Fonda gig and definitely has his moments , especially on the ballads. thumbs up

Yep, Sir Thomas (Jones) is one good example of a singer with a more or less intact voice at high age. Sir Thomas is 79.
Other good examples are Sir Roderick, Sir Ivan and Sir Reginald.
Also Gary Brooker (only MBE I'm afraid). Here are two examples of that:

( Second: Sir Roderick and Ronnie Wood, Maggie May)

Paul McCartney's show is hands down a better value. He plays 30-34 songs over 3+ hours (without an intermission) and plays at least 20 Beatles songs each night...both hits and album cuts. He changes his setlist just enough on each tour to keep it interesting and he is always "on." His band is excellent too. Looking forward to seeing him again soon.

Really? I can follow you re the professional Shows but IMHO his voice is completely gone so it's no pleasure to listen to any more. He can do nothing about it, it is due to his age.

I wouldn't say Macca's voice is "completely gone" It has diminished considerably in the past few years although I still find his shows enjoyable and his enthusiasm and musicianship (and that of his band) makes up for any shortcomings.

In Hamburg did the Stones a Dress Rehearsal on Thu, 7-Sep-2017 before the Opening Show on Sat, 9-Sep-2017.

Hence a Dress Rehearsal on Wed, 19-Jun-2019 in Chicago?

They are probably watching the weather like we are now and tonight looks favorable...

You're right about the weather: my report says the whole day rain on Wednesday - but the sun is shining on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, on Friday evening there're showers of rain (Keith's Rain-Stick may still change that).

The Dress Rehearsal in Hamburg 2017 started shortly after 6pm and lasted one hour.

To all who say that Mick can't sing anymore.
Listen to I got the Blues 2015 vs 1971

I think 2015 is better. Yeah 1971 is rougher and younger but technically 2015 is much better, it's actually more "sung" than in 1971

The Rolling Stones should start their concert with these 30 seconds
Date: June 19, 2019 04:05

I think that this would be amazing... Imagine if before the Stones take the stage on Friday night in Chicago... The lights are out... and the first 30 seconds of Ya Ya's are broadcast over the sound system...? Imagine hearing this... which is from an album from a concert 50 years ago!

Is everybody ready?
We're sorry for the delay.
The greatest Rock and Roll Band in the world...
The Rolling Stones.
The Rolling Stones.

Fifty years later... The Rolling Stones are still the worlds greatest rock and roll band. Yes, they are.

Really nice Idea, Just released that the Stones played Mercy, Mercy during the today's soundcheck for first time since the Hyde Park concert In 1969, 50 years later they have played this song, amazing!!

Please do not post rehearsals lists all over IORR, into any random thread. There are quite a few who do not want to know/read about the set list until they go to the show. This is the "Rehearsals" thread, where they belong.

All sounded good but the last four songs were excellent. Mick was not holding back. The vocals and harmonica (“out of control” and “Ride em on Down”) were both spot-on and full of energy. So just from what I heard, there should be no more worries about Mick and his vocal performance!

Harlem shuffle had the groove it deserves and in my opinion “Mercy Mercy” will be a show highlight.

It's the first single off the new album. So all those people who said they'd head Nothing from the new album had actually heard something (not the Beatles song) - ie Nothing, the new single....doesn't sound like much though...

not particularly fond of SSS but I like he fact they dig their post-TY era along with HS, OOC. Throw in something from U and it will be very good.
