astonishing result, but another failure from barcelona, thats 4 champions league failures in a row, and only 1 champions league win in 8 years.

this team get so much praise for their style, bottom line is it dosent work at the highest level, maybe next time messi and co shouldnt be assuming they are the best, stop the occasional showboating and realize what they do dosent work, personally i think messis style dosent work for argentina either. didnt work in last 3 world cups. i think messi hogs the limelight at the expense of the rest of the team, having one superstar overshadow all teammates is proving not to work for both barca and argentina.

Liverpool completly outplayed Barca, a very deserved win. They had more heart and desire

barcelona shouldnt get so much plaudits year in year out then, if they dont have the heart, they fail at the top level every year now. maybe they wrongly assume they are so much better than everyone, cos they got another lesson tonight.

It paid to wear my Liverpool scarf yesterday!

Barcelona should beware hubris; it certainly came back to haunt them last night. They thought all they had to do was turn up, and that Liverpool were missing their forwards, and they, Barca, would be a shoe-in for the final. I can see Liverpool winning the Champions League, but I cannot see them winning the English Premiership, as Man City will overwhelm Brighton on Sunday.

Anyhow: great result for Liverpool, and a great result for football in general.

It was an insane and incredible match at Anfield! But now I am already getting nervous for tonight's game. As a big Ajax fan I hope we can create history! Of course I am going to support them in the stadium tonight.

OGS should show his players this match several times and tell them this is how to play football and not slow-walking as United have done the last many years

Sure the game last night was magic. I am not a particular fan of either teams, but I love to watch great football, and especially offensive football. Liverpool must have played one of their best games last night. Even under great pressure, they never went into panic mode, they kept the ball and got rid of it moving into less dangerous positions, rather than corner situations and stuff like that. Barcelona did well, but the hard defence work from Liverpool must have been taking them by surprise. Sure Messi and his team were great, but last night was owned by Liverpool. I think they will take it all the way, with that sort of play.

I am just happy that the reds won't win the premiership this year either. A long time since 1990 innit? Now City just have to do the job against the Seagulls on saturday. Not that my outfit (Gunners) will have anything to do with the title for the foreseeable future (need to bring in a George Graham "3000" first as a manager and not try to be a Barca or summat) but as long as manure, chelski, sc*m and Liverpool don't win it I am over the moon every year in may....
