That is right, Kurt. But if you put price tags on your work you should be able to handle opinions and criticism also.

I think some folks underestimate Ronnie a little as an artist.
Were he not an otherwise famous celebrity his art would still have been more than good enough to find its way into galleries and make him a decent living.
Don't think so. There are thousands of amateurs out there just as good as him. Or better. Very few can make a living out of it.
There will be thousands of amateur guitar players who are just as good too .
As with music...a bit of luck is required to go along with the talent if you are to be successful ...and Ronnie has enough artistic talent to have succeeded, given that little bit of luck .

If Picasso or van Gogh were alive... they wouldn't sell out/ play at Madison Square Garden.
Sometimes Mick's... uh what do you call it?...his self deprecating, and that dry pragmatism is just a drag. That is why he will never be able to write an interesting autobiography. I think he knows that. But come on Mick. Quit deflating that balloon.Quote

Far more than a little bit of luck.
Mick once said the reason why the Stones had been successful for so long :
-80% Luck
-10% Hard work
-10% Talent
I didn't compare Van Gogh to Ronnie, I just gave an example. Of course my opinion like yours is worthless, history will tell! People are born, live and some are lucky enough to create something to leave to future generations, music, paintings, etc. Art critics have often wrong, sometimes they have guessed, but I always respect art, even for a painting created by a stranger, if I like it I buy it if possible regardless of the author. What I believe would be useful for everyone and learn to respectfully criticize art.Quote

You're comparing Wood with van Gogh. I say...

Trying to copy the work of a great master is a good exercise -- whether it's Taylor or Picasso.
This painting is just unimaginative and amateurish. I'd have thought twice about even posting it on a personal instagram... I wasn't gonna say anything, until I saw that it is on the rolling stones' website... Why?
Nice that RW has a hobby... But it isn't art. Not even close.
Tip: try to copy the original verbatim... Stroke for stroke... Learn from the exercise; then try to be original.
