Before I go down the Hyde Park audio rabbithole suggested by a friend on here I am listening to the first Pink Fairies LP - one of those bands that people either like or don't like - no middle ground-
Beck showing his unique and talented versatility again by jamming with Willie Nelson. Like the Beck and Neil video I posted previously, the mutual respect between the younger and elder is great to see and hear - both class acts.
Peach Pickin' Time Down in Georgia originally composed and recorded by Jimmy Rogers back in 1932.
And if that wasn't cool enough, Beck and Willie perform the same tune together agian on the Tonight Show w/Jay Leno. In a Stones-related twist, Don Was on bass...this actually might be the better of the two versions.
While watching those Beck videos, just remembered he opened for the Stones at least a couple of times during the ABB Tour - they must have really liked him to have him open multiple times. Would have loved to have been at one of those shows as he was undoubtedly one of the better openers during that tour, though I did see some good ones including Toots and the Maytalls, Bonnie Raitt, and Van the Man...
I am listening to the theme music of the 1990 iranian film "Close Up" (Nema-ye Nazdik), by Abbas Kiarostami.
I saw it the first time last wednesday and I've already rewatched it twice! Pure genius, a ten outta ten movie for me. The full version is available on youtube.
