Yes northof49 - that tune has always had a special place in my heart.

This album, THE CAPITOL STUDIOS SESSIONS, is fantastic. This track is fantastic.
Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra.
It has elements of Cannonball Adderley's Sticks and drummer Kenny Elliot - I can't remember what all I've seen of Charlie playing jazz but this is similar to something I saw - plays with fantastic roll.

I saw them about a year later in '79 or '80 opening for the Outlaws when Flirting With Disaster was released -
