Hi Hairball, Yes this is the original version, but very likely slightly polished, because it sounds very clear with slight echo. Hard to imagine these days, but in 1960 it caused a shockwave between the dikes
There were also several popular "Indi-rock" bands too. They (their parents) originated from Indonesia and their kids were very much in R 'n R in the late 50s. My sort of earliest introduction to what was called "exciting music"

It's a 1960 rock 'n roll song written by a Dutch guy named Peter Koekewijn and he had a smash hit in 1960 (invasion of American R&R) in the Netherlands an Belgium.
It's in Dutch, but give it a try (try to find the original version and image 1960).
Title: "Kom van dat dak af" by Peter and his Rockets.
